The agony of choice

Have I told you already that it’s a delight to be back? I don’t think I have, so let me just say that it’s a delight to be back. Writing blog posts, but most importantly, visiting your blogs has brought me inspiration that had been sorely lacking for a bit. Inspiration to stitch, that is. Real, honest cross stitching. So in the last couple of days, I put a little work into this wee darling

It’s the first Loose Feathers chart by Blackbird Designs, and it’s still my favourite of the lot. Just… not finished yet. No surprise there :o)

Do you know that there is a new blog out there that encourages us stitchers (I think I may still call myself a stitcher, yes?) to pick up a Scarlet Letter design and finish it before February 2014? Now, the rational part of me (which is quite tiny and insignificant and mostly neglected, but it’s there nonetheless) tells me not to join this challenge. It may seem like a good idea to join up right now, but once I click that ‘join’ button, all the joy and determination and inspiration to work on one of these incredible beauties will have disappeared into thin air. I know this. I know, I know, I know.

But then I opened my poor, long-neglected WIP/UFO drawer, and I saw this…

Susan Dunn

and this…

Mary Hart

And then I went through all my cross stitch charts and found these…

…and my heart, my sentimental, foolish heart started telling my boring brain to shut up and live a little and to go ahead and click that ‘join’ button.

Honeybuns, stop me before it’s too late.

Yours agonizingly,
Annemarie.

With so many charts, and a couple of WIPs, I think you definitely need to join :-)

And it is so lovely to have you and your amusing blog posts back too.

I don't even dare to show anyone my WIP drawer. You're very brave.

And go on, you know you want to, click that join button.

I've joined and it's my first ever challenge - go ahead and jump in. At least you've got a head start.

I would have to agree with Giovanna! So many un-WIPped WIPs to WIP up out of those gorgeous Scarlet Letter charts!!! ;)

You've got a wonderful selection to stitch when your heart desires!

It is nice to see you blogging again Annemarie.

Definitely click that join button, afterall there's no obligation to stitch. But if you feel the urge you certainly have two beautiful WIPs to carry on with - and a bevy of gorgeous charts!

So glad to have you back blogging and stitching as well. I very much enjoy reading your blop. Like you I am extremely conflicted as to whether or not join Nicola's Scarlet Letter Stitching Challenge. I have SUCH problems with deadlines!

It's good to see you back! I am coming off of a blogging and stitching slump and felt the same about the challenge as you did. I am still in that blissful state where I forget just what I have as WIPs, what plans I'd made for things to stitch, etc., etc. I thought I couldn't possibly join the SAL and start something new and then suddenly remembered--oh yeah. Jane Rees. As in, my blog background. *slaps palm to forehead* I'm hoping that I'll get through that and maybe even work on something from my stash. Best of luck to you on your plans! Love your BBD.

Why wouldn't you?? You bought the charts to stitch them one day? It's a GOLDEN opportunity.
I don't have any of these charts, so it's easy for me to say no.
Of course, you can send me one and I'll join for you LOL
Go on, join!!

What's a girl to do? It is better to have many choices than to have none....

So glad to have you back blogging! I really enjoy your posts. Why not join, I don't think the stitching police will issue a citation for not finishing. I think it will be fun to see so many wonderful samplers get finished. I need to get myself in gear and hit the join as well.

Nice to see you An! Glad the needle is calling out to you.

Well, I'm glad to know it's not just me. Every time I join a SAL, I lose all interest. It's always with a happy , joyful, eager heart, that I join, but joining is the death of all of it. So yeah, I'm going to resist, but looks like it's just me, lol!

Your BBD is so pretty, one of my favs!
