A Noble Cowl; free from Ravelry. The shawl pin is an Ikea pencil. Ahh, the versatility of Ikea ware is endless... The cowl itself is about a third shorter than it's supposed to be, because I was getting overconfident thanks to all the encouraging comments you left on my previous post and I made a booboo, so I thought 'sod it, this cowl is finished', and it was. It is.
You kindly agreed that I can now knit, but there is no way I can call myself a knitter. I'm never relaxed when I knit. Seriously, I sit there clutching those needles as if they're the steering wheel of a space shuttle about to be shot into orbit. (Or, you know, the space shuttle equivalent of a steering wheel. I don't know what they use to navigate those things.)
So, not a knitter, me. That's actually why I prefer knitting to stitching right now, beacuse I have to concentrate so hard on knitting I forget everything else. Something to do with coping mechanisms and rivers in Africa, no doubt.
This, my dear readers, is a new cowl. It's huge, it's acrylic (!) and therefore cheap and non-scratchy, and I won't have any use for it unless I move to Siberia. What do you think? I added the purply pink lilacy colour for a little zing and pizazz, but I'm not sure if it's not a little too zingily pink.
I don't know why, but I have the feeling this is a seriously weird post. Just in case you made it this far, I have a stitchy finish to share as well. It's a gift for a very lovely lady who doesn't read my blog.
Next time, I promise a more stitchy post in the form of a framed (!) finish(!!).
I'm off to clutch my needles now,
Yours nobly,
Annemarie.

Oeh, wat een leuke sockfinish!! En ik ben zwaar onder de indruk van je cowl Yep, je bent een breister!
You crack me up! lol! Your cowl is really nice, as is your second one. I'm never relaxed when I knit either. I'd love to get back to it someday, but having a kitten sort of nixes that idea right now. :D Have fun clutching your needles!
Love those cowls - especially the one with the touch of pink!
And your stocking is adorable!
enjoy clutching your needles; maybe you can clutch your stitching needles too? what might become of that?
A very nice Cowl and I like your next one too. Lovely stocking finish. x
Lovely post yet again and gets my laughing muscles going ROFLOL, think the cowlneck looks better on the cat!! only joking :)) love the Swedish pencil!!
Love the bbd sock, nice colours.
Hugs
lol; I *love* your "weird" posts!
I think the cool purple works there because you've put it by the brown, which sobers it a bit; and also it resonates with the softer cool-ish blue at the rim. Technically it would be possible to throw it off by following with an unsuitably hideous colour, but I trust in your keen color sense and taste to prevent such an occurrence. ;)
I think I'll have to agree with another commenter that Pipien wears it better (in these photos). I'll put it down to the fact that you can see the lovely lacy pattern in that shot. And, also, she's adorable. You might also be adorable in it, but having sensibly edited your visage off the internets we can't tell. :D
I was SO wanting to go to Ikea today...Marc's home sick and I was thinking of absconding with the car. I'll do my best to avoid telling myself that your pencil-pin is a sign!
Love the cording and fabric on this stocking--lovely!
I don't care what you show next time so long as there are Moar Cats! Pantoef remains the apple of my blog-browsing eye, and Pipien is a little doll as well.
I'm also not a knitter. I hope to have some things I have (not?) knit to show soon. I love your lacy cowl.
You ARE a knitter! What are you talking about, not a knitter! The first cowl looks great, the second one looks good with the colours. Pipien thinks it's the new wardrobe!
Your cowl is gorgeous! And the one in the works is great, too - those wonderful colors will stop any winter drab right in its tracks. And the Ikea pencil ... look out, you'll see them listed that way in the next catalogue! (Barbara being too lazy to switch to her other account.)
Your cowls are lovely. I love the photo of the first one being modelled by Pipien. Too cute.
Great BBD stocking finish too.
Your cowl and cowl WIP look great! Hmmm, maybe I need to try knitting if it blots out everything else in your mind.
Love the stocking finish!
Lovely cowl! That's another one I might have to make, hmmmm.... And the lovely lady who will receive the very pretty stocking is lucky to have you as a friend :-)
Being a crafter is a state of mind. You are most definitely a knitter!
The cowl looks great and the new project is going to be great too!
Annemarie, your cowls are just beautiful, and the stocking is just beautiful too!
Loving all the kntting and stitching but, of course, I a am most taken with the lovely kitty-model in the cowl!! I know I'll need a cowl soon here, but the socks still have me under their spell.
Very lovely knitting, Annemarie! And I adore your stocking, it will make such a sweet surprise!
Loving the knitting. So cozy looking. And beautiful stocking finish too!
I think your sampler finish with the unfinished leaf is absolutely charming! There must be something in the stitchy air though - my last several pieces have all been error-filled either requiring extensive frogging or creative changes in the pattern to accomodate my mistakes!
