Victory is Complete

You’re a right bunch of gloaters, aren’t you? "Ooooh, Annemarie, your first sock looks gorrrrgeous. Really. Congratulations to YOU, you fabulous Sock Conqueror. But DO you realise you need two socks to make a pair? Well, why don’t you come back after you’ve finished that one - the second Sock - and THEN let’s see if you’ve still got such a smug attitude vis-à-vis sock-knitting."

Needless to say I do.
And do.And do.And do.My very first pair, which I’ve christened my Toadstool Socks. (Toadstool, because this allows me to pretend that they look deliciously autumnal, when in fact they just look hideously poisonous). The yarn was sold without a wrapper (there’s a surprise) so I can’t tell you who the manufacturer is.

In between knitting socks, I’ve also done some cross-stitch-stash-acquiring (for those of you worried that I’ve completely forgotten my reason for being on the WWW in the first place)

And yes. Some knitting-stash-acquiring, too, at the Craft Fair in Rotterdam.

I will leave you to guess which part of my stash will first fall victim to my crafting needs.

Yours, again, very smugly,
Annemarie.

Yay! Congrats on finishing that second sock! Great stash buying too! I had to look at which SL charts you got -- SL is definitely a weakness of mine. lol! Love Noro yarn too!

I really hope I'm the very first to congratulate you on your first pair of socks!!!! You go girl.
You have done that so very fast, it seems like you have been knitting like Mrs Marple. Or Mrs Silver, I'm not sure. $
Love your stash, and the yarn (for Pelles socks???)

You sly thing--Learning to knit socks before I did, eh? :D

It's official--you are now a Sock Knitter Extraordinaire! Not one but Two--and they even match! :o

Love your new stashy acquisitions. Especially the Not-Even-Slightly-Ugly yarn.

Oh what a shame Annemarie, just thought to ask you if they might be Rowan?? I did see KFasset at the Quilt show and he knitted colours just like you .)LOL Admire your perseverance though and they must be warm :o))
Love your charts!!

Remember that song by Color Me Badd from a million years ago, "I Wanna S*x You Up?"

Yeah, well, my high school friends and I made a clean version of that song called, "I Wanna Make You Socks."

We were cool. Now I have it stuck in my head! ha!

Nice socks. *wink*

Poisonous? Cheery surely! Any finished project (or a pair of them) is an accomplishment. BTW - I vote for tackling the x-stitch stash first!

I own a cross stitch store and since I learned to knit about 3 weeks ago I haven't stitched since. Whoops!

Oooh, who's gloating now? And rightfully so I might add :) You are a Very Clever and Quick knitter! I'm sure your other foot is very thankful that it won't be left in the cold, lol!

Ummm, you're digging into the yarn first???

Hi you smug sock knitter extraordinaire! Oh my, how a second sock can throw one over the moon! ;-)

Well done!

I love your SL stash! I bought Mary Ann Michell too this year though have not kitted her up yet.

Looking forward to more knitting smugness!

Such lovely toadstool socks. As a knitter who's never knitted a sock, you have my complete admiration. As a stitcher who has a bunch of SLs going, watch out--they're addictive!

They're WONDERFUL socks, Annemarie! I love them! And your new yarn ... I can just see the future socks. My feet are so happy for your feet. I also love your new stash. You have great taste!!

Ahhh, they are a lovely pair indeed! Toadstool, now that's a good name and the book illustration proves it. You got some Noro yarn? I've been lusting after that stuff for ages. For now I stick to the local shop brands, Red Heart, Regia, and Lang. I ceratinly didn't mean to sound gloating over your single sock.....but I will get a bit nasty if I don't see some cat photos soon!

I'm definitely ooing and ahhing over your socks! They look so cozy and pretty too - not poisonous at all!

Enjoy all your new stash!

I think "Smug Socks" would have worked, but I'm OK with the whole toadstool thing, too. Especially if you add "Toasty" in front of the name. (Assuming they are.) Glad I'm not the only one who acquires cross stitch stash in quantities unrelated to the amount of time available to devote to said stash. (Your new ladies are lovely. Can't wait to see your future sampler wall.)

Good for you!! I'd love to be able to knit myself a warm, cozy pair of socks :) Enjoy them!!

Congratulations on a great looking pair of hand knit socks! I love teh colors - and that is some very nice stash enhancement. I'm sure you'll have fun with all these goodies.

PS - I have all these same weakness - yarn, cross stitch, quilting - so many fun projects so little time! LOL

Yadayada! You made the second one. Good girl! Hey look at all those Scarlett Letter charts. I am sooo jealous. I keep drooling over them and drooling and drooling. Next year - for definite. x

Victory indeed! Congrats my friend on such a wonderful finish. Your toadstool socks are terrific.
That's quite the new stash you have there. But I have the feeling that your knitting passion is taking over.
Take care and hugs to Pele.

Wonderful sock!! A great victory! Perfect to wear when you're stitching, don't you think? Love your new stash - SL charts are a weakness of mine, and that Noro yard looks yummy. Perhaps another pair of socks???

Ha, I knew it - the second sock would follow shortly. It's appropriate to shout "Victory" over both of them. Enjoy your victory. And enjyo your new stash.

WOW, what an achievement! They do look poisenous, but I bet they are very comfy and warm too.

Love your new stash, both of the knitty and stitchy kind.

I keep telling you: write a book! Your writing is just so enjoyable :o)
