A post of many pictures (including a stitchy one!)

Welllll, that was a long absence, wasn’t it? Not planned, but been kept v. busy because:

What was he doing on that bench, you may wonder. Why, this of course:

Pelle was home for a well-deserved little holiday. Here you see him and his grandmother trying to find relief from temperatures that can only be described as scorchio.
I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the New Moon.
My stitching orts jar picture looks exactly like the ones I’ve been showing you for the last six months, so I thought I’d show you my crochet orts. Much more impressive, I’m sure you will agree. And what about that blanky??? 62 stripes and counting! Pelle is going for another overnight stay at his daycare centre on Wednesday with a slightly bigger blanket. His first stay was a huge succes (for him, at least. I didn’t sleep a wink, but now I know he’s in such good hands and enjoys it so much, I’m sure I’ll enjoy my Mummy Time more this time around).

Been stitching, too.
Sarah Harris, what a lovely lady she is. Quirky and vibrant and slightly eccentric. That’s how I like my ladies.

Sorry, I have loads and loads to share but absolutely no time to do it today. Or tomorrow, or the day after that. Schoolpaper to write and edit, books to translate, life to enjoy.
To all my American friends, enjoy your special day!

Much love,
Annemarie.

That's so great that Pelle enjoyed his first overnight so much! Now you can relax at his next one! Love the blankie! And the crochet orts jar is very impressive indeed! The heat is coming this week for us too. Sigh.

Missing you TERRIBLY, Annemarie. I'm thinking of saving my egg money to buy you a plane ticket out here. I'll talk to the girls about increasing production so this would be possible before we both reach old age. ;)

LOVE the blankie you're working on for dear Pelle, and it's fabulous to see you doing some stitching, too. The beach pics look so cool and inviting. We haven't had much for scorching weather, but we've had some nice summer days. It's raining again today. Much more rain than last summer but it still seems okay to me - living in the Netherlands did much to increase my rain tolerance, LOL!

Lovely, bright, sunny photos! Celebrated out 4th on the 3rd. Good thing, as it's raining today. Time for me to settle down and make some x's. Haven't crossed a stitch in ages. Been caught up in the knitting and sewing thing. Oh well, it's all good therapy isn't it.

Sarah Harris is so pretty--and your blanket is fab. We call those days scorcheroos.

Oh, and if Barbara does save her egg money and gets you to Maine, I am inviting myself for a visit. Even though I was raised better than that and she is five hours' drive from my mother in Maine.

Yay! Annemarie is stitching! Glad to see your post. I'm thinking that Pelle is looking rather tall even without the bench factored in . . .

Loving that you are making a granny stripe blanket. They are so neat. Still have to get back to my large granny square afghan but I only work on 20 squares at a time before I am off to crochet something else. I think these stripes would keep you peeked with interest to keep adding another one. :-)

Stitching? Are we supposed to still be stitching now that we discovered crochet hooks? Lol!

Hugs en groetjes ~
Heidi

Glad you had a chance to post Annemarie. I love, love, LOVE that pink shade in SH. Gorgeous color!! Grats on all the progress. Your blankie for Pelle is looking good, and I'm glad he enjoyed the overnight. I hope he enjoys the second as much. And I hope you enjoy the second more, lol. I know how it is to worry about your son, so I'll wish you peace and happiness on that night!

Lovely to see your stitching but I am very impressed with that crocheted beauty! Love all the colours in it. And your crochet ort jar is just as impressive. Scorcho's are here also- I have been hiding in my air conditioning, I'm ashamed to say. Pelle is growing so quickly!

OMG that blanket is a must-have. Seriously. And it looks so great on your chair. I LOVE the colors. And I'm so a white-and-natural tone-on-tone crochet girl.

Of course the water playing, bench-standing, successfully-overnighting is wonderful, too.

Your stitching & crochet both look great! I'm so glad to hear that Pelle enjoyed his night away. Enjoy the heat--we're finally getting a bit of sun and slightly higher temps.
