And the Award goes to...

Dear readers, I have nothing much to show you on the stitching front and now that the pumpkins have been harvested, no new pumpkinny pictures to share either. So what am I doing here? Well, the reason for appearing thusly, in the middle of the week, less than a week after my last post, is threefold, nay, fourfold. Firstly: I think the number of comments left on my blog when I post in the weekend is just unacceptably low [:o)]. Secondly, I do have one picture to share of the needlebook I've made using another Blue Pistol Lady motif. It's unfinished, but showable. The fabrics on which my needlebook-to-be rests are the ones I will be using for the lining and pocket.

Thirdly, I've joined another Neighbourhood Round Robin. Now before you (yes, you, Harmien) start shaking your head and directing your eyes heaven-wards, let me explain that this is not any old Neighbourhood Round Robin. It's Vonna's idea of a Neighbourhood Round Robin. And it's not really a Round Robin, it's more sort of a Stitch Along. You see, no other person will stitch on this Neighbourhood except myself. We don't start until December 31st, which leaves me an entire four months to finish The Village of Hawk Run Hollow, The Blue Lady, The Fremme Birds, the Cinders Sampler, Rites of Spring, Where My Heart Blooms and The Harvesters, which is, I think you'll agree, totally do-able. Vonna set up a blog for us, and I spent the better part of yesterday evening feverishly planning and plotting and calculating and drawing and sighing and smiling and cackling and browsing and counting and searching and researching. I always find that, in order to start a neighbourhood, I need a name for it. After that, it's a piece of cake. So, the name of my new Neighbourhood, ladies and gentlemen, is Woodsy Wanderings. You will have to wait for the rest of my plans until I find a piece of fabric large enough to carry my neighbourhood.

Fourthly (I was making a list of reasons for posting today, remember?), there has been a lot of Blogger Award awarding going on in the last couple of weeks. I have been nominated several times, by some lovely fellow bloggers whom I have rudely neglected so far (Su, Rachel, Loreta, so sorry). Now I do believe everybody in Stitching Blogland has been nominated at least once for the Brilliante Blogger Award, the I Love Your Blog Award and the Kreativ Blogger Award, so I hope you don't mind if I don't pass these awards on to other people. That is not to say I'm not flattered or pleased, because I am, more than I can say.
Does anyone actually know where these Blog Awards come from? Who makes them up? Is it a Blogger powered thing, or does someone sit down at a desk in front of a computer on a rainy, boring afternoon, to think of a new award? Because if that is the case, I would hereby like to introduce another Blogger Award, thought of by moi, entitled: The Blogger Who Makes You Green With Envy Because They Can Stitch, Design, Work, Keep House And Raise A Family Without Seemingly Losing Any Of Their Amiable Qualities Award (the BWMYGWEBTCSDWKHARAFWSLAOTAQ Award for short). This is the Blinkie to go with it,

Blinkie Maker

and the lucky people who get to copy and paste this blinkie on their blog are:

Barbara, who is not only the warmest person, the bestest Mommy to four beastiest of children, the beautifullest stitcher and a great writer, but also a seriously original designer, a wonderful craftswoman - you have only to browse through her Etsy Shop to know I am right - and an inspirational fellow Blogger.

Tanya, of whom the same can be said, basically. I mean, come on. Look at the pictures of darling Ben and Zack. And she's The Sampler Girl. 'Nuff said. Oh, and she likes Seinfeld, too, which proves she has a great sense of humor :o)

Vonna, who must be the busiest bee among us Stitching Bloggers. Apart from hosting a number of exchanges and now this Neighbourhood SAL blog, this lady has two jobs, one husband, four children, a finishing service for stitchers who are stuck, and a house so immaculate it actually brings tears to my eyes every time I see a picture of said house.

Monique, homeschooler, designer, thread-holder-designer, quilter, coffee-slurper, Scandinavian fabric and design lover...the list goes on.

The rules of this award:
1. Be proud and rejoice.

That's it.

I promise stitchy pics in my next post!

Tra-la-la-la-la! I am proud and rejoicing :)
LOL! You made me laugh...and GUESS what I am doing...cleaning...yep, I do it *constantly* and I'm at it again.

This neighborhood is going to be fantabulous! YEPPERS! I've been plotting, basting, figuring, calculating, pulling, drawing and cackling right along with you! AND I think "Woodsey Wanderings" is a great name for a wonderful warm town...I hope there is a clearing in the forest for some pumpkin hills....make sure to pack an axe.
HUGS and much love to you An :)

Oh sure, create an award that I'm not eligible for just because I haven't produced fruit of my loins. I'll live. ;)

I love the fabric for the pistol lady motif needlebook. Is it Morris?

Oh, my girl - you always make me smile!!!I totally agree with your nominations. I want to grow up to be just like them - no I don't - I couldn't possible do all that.
You deserve your own award for all the crap you have had to deal with. You still find time to make other people laugh and you provide a warm loving home for that precious little boy. So give that award back to yourself!

Thank you, Annemarie. How dear of you to include me in such a list - wow! I think you are an amazing mom. We strive to do so much and sometimes it all gets done, and sometimes it doesn't - and that's ok. I've come to understand that - afterall, moments are fleeting and we need to fill them up with what is important.

you had the best reasons to blog... an update, an award and a new start. I was almost tempted to join the neighbourhood, but I just know I can't make it by the end of 2009. and I had to laugh by your green award: I immediately thought about Barbara (I must admit I don't read much more English blogs these days).

Pretty needlebook and the finishing fabrics are just gorgeous.

The Neighbourhood RR.SAL sounds fun! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Oh, I was sorely tempted to join in on the new Neighborhood RR that Vonna has started! But right now I dare not as my productivity with the needle has dwindled so dramatically, it's awful. And instead of starting another large project, I'm going to concentrate on finishing Group 2 NRR, then try to do some smocking. :)

Your new award was given to the choices stitchers among us! I think that all these awards are just a means of increasing hits on your blog and those of your friends. :) A nice thing, but I'm starting to feel that they're a new form of chain letter.

Love my visits with you, An!

When reading the title of your award Annemarie, I immediately thought of Barbara too. But then all you bloggers can share in most parts of your award as do you not only work outside the home, raise kids, support your family and friends, stitch and share your busy lives with the world. You deserve your award also!!Maria S.

Your Award is very inspirational and the folks you chose are surely deserving "as are you."
Have fun with Vonna's SAL. It sounds like fun. I have already committed to a SAL in the New Year..so no can do! I have the SAL link in my Google reader and will follow it diligently.
Have a good weekend!

Finally a chance to drop by and see what you've been up to this past while Annemarie.

Love those lovely pumpkins and wow does Pelle look proud or what!!!!

We arrived here on Aug 1 - are currently camping in our house until our furniture arrives on the 24th of next month. The simple life is good but it will be wonderful to have our possessions around us again. Right now we don't even have a landline telephone as KPN is messing about. Oh well - patience is a virtue I guess.

Vonna's idea for a me, myself and I neighbourhood is fantastic and I am seriously thinking about joining. Just don't know if I'm creative enough so will have to give it some more thought.

Will drop by again soon.

Hey, how about the "I Don't Have Any Kids But My House Still Looks Like Crap!" award. I would surely win that one. Congrats to the other winners though. A very deserving group indeed, and I am truly green with envy. A little "orange" with envy too over those pumpkins.

You so totally crack me up, you wonderful, wacky woman you! :D I love the green blinky. :D

You rock, Annemarie!

Oh, I'm laughing!!! I so agree with your green blinkie, An. But, I would also add Carol S. She's a great friend, a fabulous stitcher and finisher, always finds time to send birthday stitchery, get involved with RRs and exchanges, has a job, lots of cats, a husband and a gorgeous garden...and I think she's so deserving of the greenie!!! I think I'll carry this to my blog...:] I love your stitching accessories, An. They are just beautiful. I've sent Vonna a request to join the Me,Myself&I RRs, too. Hope there's still room for me.
Love and hugs,
Deb

THANK YOU! Talk about making my day... I'm going to post on my blog about this tomorrow. I am honored to be listed in such company! And rightbackatcha, friend!

Because I'm apparently superhuman I think finishing up those WIPs before the neighborhood starts is totally possible! In fact, I think you could add another ;)

I hope you are planning a pumpkin patch for Woodsy Wanderings...
