Of finishes and friends

This has been a difficult week, but it's come to a very happy conclusion. I will let the pictures speak for themselves:

Prairie Schooler - Birdsong II framed!

The Goods Huswife - Ellen Birdseye framed!

Jeremiah Junction this-and-that-mixed-motifs-from-various-issues-of-their-magazine-sampler - framed!

Dinner with my oldest friends - names clockwise starting on the left: Saskia, empty spot (that would be me), Annique, Godelieve, Sandy, Renate (who is trying very hard to avoid the camera and pretending not to do so). I've known Annique for thirty years (shhhh) and the rest of our circle of friends has been added on to throughout our years at school. We're an odd bunch, I think, but we all get along like a house on fire :o)

And finally, another picture that would lighten up the darkest day:

Pelle looking very sweet and wearing his new Ome Willem T-Shirt with great pride.

For your information: I've finished the Halloween floss ring tag slash scissors fob exchange for Harmien and I delivered it on her doorstep last Monday, but since the finishing was done in the dead of night (the perfect time to finish a gift for Halloween, wouldn't you agree?) I couldn't take a picture, so you will just have to believe me. Next time I'm doing an exchange with Harmien (or with anybody, for that matter) I'm not going to suggest an exchange unless I've actually already finished my part of the exchange.

Hope this finds you well and happy.

Until next time!

Your friends seem to be having a grand time! And I'm happy they are there for you too ;o)

Hi there Annemarie! I am back and wish I was still up north. It was so wonderful to spend lots of time at Cranberry Cottage. Trying to keep myself from doing too much now that I am home is not easy. It just seem to happen. :)

You really have some wonderful finishes and I especially love The Goods Huswife - Ellen Birdseye. I have seen this before and forgot who it was by. Now I know as I love the saying on this sampler and think I need to buy this chart. :) How handsome little Pelle is. Is Ome Willem still around? How fun that the things of old are all becoming new again. Does that make me new again too??? LOL!

Hugs ~

Nice, nice framing! They look wonderful--beautifully chosen to set of the lovely stitching. I went to the Ome Willem site, and not reading Dutch, didn't quite get it, but the shirt is cute.

Friends are the best.. There is something to be said about having a friend for 30 years. As you know Kathy a. and I have been friends that long as well.
Your finishes are wonderful and Pelle is a little charmer no doubt.
Love the shirt!

Looks like you and your pals had a GREAT time! :D Yay! So glad there were some truly bright spots in a week that also had some rough patches.

Your framing came out great! And now of course I must get Nicky an Ome Willem shirt because 'broodje poep' is one of his all-time favorites. LOL!

And in closing, I like your idea of first having the exchange finished before suggesting it. That's brilliant!

Hadn't you had the exchange framed???
Oh, and shall we do an exchange: you have startitis and I have finishitis, so that will be a huge challenge to our deadlines...

Love your picture of Pelle with his new T-shirt, it's kind of nostalgic.
Great to have such 'old' friends and even see them from time to time!

Hope this week will be better!

"Ellen Birdseye" finished and framed? The only thing that could make it better is if it were hanging on MY wall! [sigh]

Pelle is quite the handsome guy! (But then, I suspect you already knew that.)

Hi Annemarie! Stop in at NeedleNecessities as I have given you an award. By the way, I think you are perfectly normal to walk among the heather with a big smile on your face. :)

There's an art group I'm in that does a monthly swap, and I never sign up until *after* I've made whatever it is LOL

Your framing is fabulous, and I'm sure your tag is too!

Hi ~ I just found your blog and had a lot of fun looking at the pics - and oddly enough, now I want to go get my Jeremiah Junction UFO out, if I can find it... O_o
But I really liked your little sampler!!!

That's funny about exchanging - I think I might follow that example...to only sign up for an exchange when I already have the piece finished! Love love love your framed pieces...and you've got quite a little cutie there in these two posts as well!
