This is a post entirely about ladies and I will start with the first one I mentioned, i.e. the pink one. Because she is the most astonishing, beautiful and lovely one – I’m serious, she’s even more wonderful than the Blue Lady, because she is… my niece! Her name is Eline and she was born on December 30th. My brother – remember? The wise-ass who thought his sister was a moron because she didn’t know how to take a decent photograph? – is still to send me a picture of his daughter, but until then, you will just have to believe me when I say that she is a darling. She gave her Mum a good deal of trouble: the poor dear wasn’t released from the hospital until last week, but she is recovering well and very happy to be home with baby Eline.
With half my family in hospitals around Europe (my father was in the hospital with a viral infection, too) and a sick child at home, I was very happy to have something to divert my thoughts and this something came in the shape of our new, mostly black, kitty! She arrived in our home on January 2nd and she’s keeping everyone busy, including poor old Pantoef, who seems a grumpy old sod compared with the very lively, very smart and very fast Pipien. If you thought Pantoef was bad around my stitching, think again… Pipien has a lot to learn :o) Well, I found a description of the character of an average Rex cat online and I must say it is spot on: Cornish and Devon Rex cats can best be described as a cross between a terrorist and a monkey. And here they are, my Rex cats and their Wicked Ways
Claws and linen do not a good combination make
Meanwhile, on the other side of the scroll frame...
As you see, stitching has become a bit of a challenge :o) STILL, I managed to make enormous progress on the Blue Lady:
Before:
After: And just to give you an idea how idiotically large this piece is, here’s a pic of the lady in front of my book case
Sigh. I hadn’t seen her in all her glory for a while, so once she was up there, I sat down for a while to feast my eyes on the beauty of her. And then I rolled her up and put her away in my closet, because I’m always so afraid of over-indulging. What if I get tired of her? I couldn’t let that happen, could I??
And anyway, there’s another piece that’s been calling my name quite loudly. It’s Wife Into Thy Garden by the Goode Huswife. You can see my progress on it in the terrorist pictures, and here's a pic of the contents of the book. Wife Into Thy Garden is second sampler on the picture (sorry, couldn't be bothered to take snap myself):
I have the Goode Huswife Book of Designs III in my possession, because it was too good to not have in my possession, but I already had this chart before the book was published, which means I actually have two copies. Wife Into Thy Garden is no longer available as a single chart, so if you would like to have it, leave a comment on this post. You have to be quick(ish) though, because I will draw a name on Thursday and let you all know who the lucky winner is in my next post (which is planned for next Thursday) (if everybody around me stays as healthy as they possibly can) (and my computer doesn’t crash).
Hope to see you again soon! As always, thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate it, especially because my own presence in Blogland has been mostly… absent.
Yours as always gratefully,
Annemarie.

The blue lady is gorgeous but wow! that is a big piece. I would love a change at the Wife Into Thy Garden Chart. Thanks!
Your Blue Lady is looking really nice. That is a big project!
I don't have the Goode Huswife book and I would really like to have that chart. diana.h@comcast.net
You've certainly got your hands full with those two monkeys! Both very cute though :)
The Blue Lady is certainly large, but you've made excellent progress. Congratulations on the birth of your niece too!
I love your blue lady! She is beautiful, and very large! Congratulations to your brother and his wife on their beautiful pink bundle! Your kitties are adorable. We have a couple of kittens that would love to join them in destroying needlework. Mine like to unravel skeins of thread! But, because I have no little ones at home anymore I go behind a closed door.
I would love a chance to win Wife Into Thy Garden!
First of all congratulations on being a (first time?) auntie!! It's great to have an addition to the family and luckely mother and daughter are at home, so I reckon they are okay!
I hope your dad is recovering from the virus too.
You have made HUGE progress on the blue lady. She will be a roommate when you're done. I'm really impressed with the amount of work you have been able to do on her.
Is Pelle okay now too?? Is he adjusted to Pipien?? If you have another kitten, the two of you will be outnumbered...
Don't count me in for the Wife in the Garden. I appreciate the idea, but I have so much lovely charts waiting for me to stitch. Another one and I'll get a burn-out... ;-)
Oh so good to "see" you again! I hope things are going better with all the ill and recovering ones. Those cat photos are so sweet. My eye goes right to them, even bypassing the stitching photos. Naughty, naughty me! But what wonderful stitching there has been. Blue Lady looks amazing. Please do enter me in the drawing...as if I need one more single thing in my stash.
Congrats on the new additions to your family - Eline and lovely Pipien! She looks to have settled in very nicely among your linen and her new furry brother. Blue Lady is looking awesome - how can you overindulge working on her?
Congratulations, Aunt Annemarie and love to Cousin Pelle too!
Blue Lady is amazing. Love all your pics on your blog. AND Congrats on the new niece. Be sure to show us some pics. I would love to be entered in your drawing as GH is my favorite designer series. pj
Blue Lady is looking good ! She will be a long one won't she. The ktities are so cute and look like they get along very well. Congratulatons on your niece.
Well, congratulations Auntie Am! We will await Eline's debut on your blog.
Hmmm, now you have 2 furry terrorists on your hands! ...or on your stitching. You are a woman who loves a challenge! ;-)
You have accomplished a lot on the Blue Lady! I also noticed the second photo is much sharper and brighter. Did you use a photo editor for that? I'm trying to figure out the mysteries of taking good photos...with as little effort as possible on my part!
I don't need the chart as I bought Bk III also. It's a wonderful collection. I'm so glad she decided to re-release them.
Take care, Annemarie. Glad to 'see' you. Hope your boy is feeling better.
Sounds like things at your house are as hectic as ever, but at least this time around you all seem relatively healthy. Nice to know you have two new additions to the family, even if one of them doesn't appreciate your stitching.
Your Blue Lady is coming along nicely. Mind when you unroll her like that it really does put the size of the task ahead into perspective.
Please enter me into the draw, it would mean another new designer to fall in love with.
Please include my name in your drawing! I just started my first Goode Huswife project. It is With My Needle and am loving it. :)
What a cute dastardly duo!
Your progress on The Blue Lady is excellent! It truly is enormous, isn't it?
Wow! Blue Lady is amazing!!
I'd love a chance to add the chart to my stash - thanks!
I guessed those kitties had kept you busy and not posting, never imagined everyone was getting ill. I hope for better days for your loved ones. ***hugs***
Pip is a cutie! They look so sweet snuggled up together. Momma must be telling tales...they could never cause trouble. Gasp! Claws on the linen! Be careful kids or Momma will buy you some Soft Paws!!!

Boy oh boy! You and your family have been busy - a new baby in the family , a new kitty and a lot of stitching progress it looks like to me. I never realized blue lady was so big! She's big and beautiful! I would not be too happy with my doggies if I saw them looking at my needlework like your kitties are doing! I love GH charts and would love to be included in your drawing, Annemarie. Thank you! Have a good week.
You are very naughty talking about both new babies and new kitties in the same post, and I won't even get into your BAP-indulgence. How's a gal supposed to resist jumping on board? Ahh well, no more kiddies for us, and Niek's put his foot down on kitties as well (or thinks he has, LOL!!). However, my stitching and I should be reunited next month. Hooray!
Best wishes to your SIL and your dear Dad regarding their health. Please give both Pelle and Eline an extra squeeze from me!
It is just too good to see you again! The Blue lady is obscenely large! I had no idea she had such an impressive size to her. How beautifully she is working up--so much you've gotten done! Also so great to see kitty pictures--I think I remain loyal to Pantoef in my heart--I just love his colours and markings. I am looking forward to watching the little lady grow into herself, however. ;)
I would love to win this pretty OOP chart; please include me in the draw. :D
The kittens are gorgeous, but oh dear - sharpening claws on your linen, not good. Please could you put my name in the draw for the Goode Huswife chart, which would be great to stitch.
Al je dames zijn prachtig, ook al ontbreekt dat roze meisje. Kom op, Alex!!
Congratulations to you on the new additions to your family--your niece and your kitty! ;) Hope everybody is recovering well.
Lovely WIPs! Thanks for the offer for the giveaway, but I have the chart.
Greed would make me ask you to enter my name in the draw, but reason says that this chart will be stitched much more quickly in another home - I am nobly giving up !
I take your word for granted regarding the loveliness of the pink Miss Eline. It's a pretty name too. But I love Pipien, although I am glad that her Blackness is yours, not mine ! And the Blue Lady... a bit too large for my taste, but congrats on persevering !
Best wishes of GOOD health to all the members of your family...
Congrats on the newly-arrived ladies, and, wow!, what great progress on the blue one!
Congrats Aunty Annemarie to you all, what lovely news, I hope that your SIL is better now.
Both kitties look adorable together just as if they could never ever get up to mischief - so innocent looking LOL!
Please enter me into your drawing that would be wonderful
Hugs
Congratulations, Annemarie. A niece is great and her name is beautiful! And Pipien looks gorgeous too. That piccie of her and Pantoef just made me melt on the spot.
Hope Pelle and your Dad are doing as well as they can be.
All your projects are great!
If you have time and feel like it, please visit my new blog:

It has kitties and stiches, but no Pink Ladies :o)
Congrats on your new niece! Congrats on your new kitty (I'll prefer to think that, rather than sharpening claws on your linen, Pantoef and Pipien simply want to learn how to stitch so they can help you complete more projects). Sending good wishes for your father and Pelle. Contemplating whether to replace my curtains or simply stitch a "Blue Lady" of my own. And begging (shamelessly) for you to choose me in the drawing for the Goode Huswife pattern.
De blauwe dame is prachtig! Wel een klus.
Veel beterschap voor je vader en Pelle.
Graag doe ik mee met de verloting van het GH patroon.
Glad to see you post - but my goodness have you had a lot going on. I don't know how happy I would be to see kitties pawing at my xstitch stuff, but they look like they're getting along well together. I can't believe how big your Blue Lady is, but you've made a wonderful amount of progress!!!
Congratulations on the new addition to your family!
I would love to be entered into the drawing for that design. Thank you so much!
Hi, Love your stitching. I would love to have a chance to win the chart.
Thanks, Linda

I love the Goode Huswife and would greatly enjoy the Wife Into Thy Garden chart. Thank you for such a nice giveaway!!
I love the innocent looks your cats have in the cuddling on the bed picture. They are beautiful, and I bet they are a handful. May I enter for the pattern? I love the colonial images.
P.S. I also like your blog background.
Oh, my gosh, the Blue Lady. I love the Blue Lady. I covet her ... right up to the moment when I would have to begin to stitch her, and then I'd be overwhelmed. She's amazing.
Oh it is nice to see the Blue Lady again. I love her. You got lots of progress made. Please don't hide her away.
The Blue Lady is gorgeous! I agree with Doris - overwhelming! Hope I am not too late to enter your drawing!
I hope I'm here in time! I love the Goode Huswife designs!
WOW! That is a huuuuge project you're working on! I am in awe!
Loving your blue lady.
Since you have the book for the Goode Huswife may I ask you a question.
What is the second chart in the second row? I am sure that it is out of print, but I still just need to know what it is!
I have been enjoying your blog. Please put my name in the drawing for the Goode Huswife. It is a wonderful giveaway. Thanks. pdaw4790@austin.rr.com
Wow, you made such considerable progress on the Blue Lady. I have never seen such a BAP before. But I also love to stitch BAPs, the bigger the better, lol.
All the best wishes to your dad, I hope he has completely recovered from his infection in the meantime. And I also hope that Pelle isn't sick any longer by now.
Congratulations on your new niece.
Great progress on the Blue Lady, she looks gorgeous.
Cute photo's of the kitties
