Christmas in April

Have you been wondering what is keeping me so busy that I can't even come to your blogs for a visit? Well, several things are going on - but then again, aren't they always? - the happiest of which I will list below:

- reading (I Finished A Book And Started A New One) (and I'm not a book listener but a book reader, so I actually have to sit down and open a book and read without being able to do a single other thing. Not even stitching.) (Which is why so little reading is generally done by me.)
- stitching! (mostly presents) (so if you're expecting something from me, your gift is probably pictured below)

- gardening! (Trying depsperately to become green-thumbed, thus far without success. Even the pumpkin plants are very reluctant to make an appearance. After last year's crop failure, I'm hoping this year will be better for pumpkins.) (At least the plum trees look lik they might yield something)

- making curtains! (Prim-style. And not doing a bad job, if I do say so myself. But, obviously, not good enough to show you.)
- dyeing fabric! (with a new recipe, which makes the whole house smell of Christmas. Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, coffee. Yum!)
- working!
- lazying about, trying to become the Blue Lady.
- Yoga (or in other words: working hard, trying to become the Blue Lady).
- generally tring to find peace of body and mind.

Yours smilingly,
Annemarie.

As long as you're happy with what you're doing, that's all that matters!

Everything looks great :) I just made some curtains myself, turned out great :) I'm sure yours will too!
I listen while I stitch and read before I sleep...works for me!

Hugs!

Christmas in April, May, June, July, etc, etc! I was thrilled to hear from you. We too are busy in the garden. I just bought my various lettuce plants to put in pots. A summer of salads is bliss! And will I be able to raid your pumpkin patch this year??? :-) I am glad to hear you are happily busy. Off to Cranberry Cottage for Koninginnedag. Hope you have a great weekend!

Hugs en groetjes ~
Heidi

I've been given "the finger" a few times in my life, but this one is by far the cutest! Sounds like you're keeping a well-rounded schedule and enjoying yourself too. Can't wait to see the results of the dying.

I'm a reader and not a listener also! Nifty projects, even if we can only peek.

It's always a good day when I see your smiling finger girlfriend, lol!
Hey, I thought you said you couldn't grow stuff! That's a lot of green I see there :-)
Your stitching looks lovely, is that one of the CHS girls...Molly or one of the others? I have two of those in my stash for someday..

Annemarie,

Your recipe for dying fabric sounds very aromatic. I think it would give me cravings for some type of spicy desert like pumpkin pie or spice cake.

It sounds like you're happy! Great! I'd be happy to see the color results of your new dye...

Annemarie, I hope that you won't think me too terribly creepy, but I feel like Pelle's Spinster Aunt over here in Hoosierville....it is a joy to see him growing up from the lovely pics on your blog! Such a sweet face!

Thank you for the post! I've printed it out and am using it as my new manifesto for living. (Minus the gardening part because that would involve me actually getting off my heiney and going outside.)

Annemarie,

Hope you've been dyeing fabric, not dying fabric as I misspelled above. LOL

Curtains are the first thing I ever made that could be considered a needlecraft. I totally want to see yours! And they're prim, too!

LOVE the new "family" pics you've added to your sidebar. Especially the Pantoef! The others are nice enough, too...But I'm obsessed with that guy. In a totally I'm-not-a-cat-napper type of way. ;P

P.S. I finally tried dyeing some fabric, too. Though there's no way Rit smells as good as the recipe you've described! :D
I've been busy trying to learn how to make and keep a schedule. Thrilling stuff, I know. And stitching things in monchrome. (Who knew DMC 310 had so much appeal??)

As for yoga-ing to attain Blue Ladyness, that sounds good. I've been thinking of trying Tai Chi with a similar aim. Although, I don't think I have a stitchy totem to meditate upon. It might not work 'till I find one, lol.

Your gardening certainly Looks charming enough, though. And Pelle as the Pumpkinseed Gnome was adorable. I'm not even sure that Pantoef could win me over more!

I recomment stitching on the Blue Lady to become a blue lady. It's the only way to really relax...

Love the pictures of your roommates, how are they doing? Enjoy some days off with Pelle.

All the different points on your list give you a certain feeling of accomplishment and pride and happiness. Some more than the others (working being one of the others maybe, lol).
Looking forward to seeing all these stitched gifties finished.
