Beds are for sleepy people...

...not for translators with deadlines who also have an irrepressible urge to stitch. So when my work is (more or less) done late at night, what do I do? I sit down and stitch. And stitch. And then I stitch some more. And then I *finish things*. To wit:

Blackbird Designs' Loose Feathers Pattern 35; Peacock Pinkeep/needlebook, using the recommended 28 ct. Weeks Dye Works Gingham Linen light grey/straw and GA/CC threads. Substituted WDW Fawn with DMC 4150

Ta-daaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Yes, I know, I surprise me too sometimes. Just wanted something to store my needles in, because they were forever wandering and straying. No more! Notice the bijoux buttons holding the booklet together. Still, on the whole another staggeringly wonky primitive finish, but it's for myself and I'm very pleased with it.

Noah is a no-no today - but I think one fortnightly update on the CHS Stocking SAL is not bad at all for someone like me.

I think I will go to bed now. Turns out I'm quite sleepy after all...

Yours sleepily,
Annemarie.

Slaap lekker Annemarie!

Heidi

I think your finish is wonderful - both the stitching and the finishing. Now your needles will not stray! Hope you got a great night's sleep.

Aha! What's this? A clever distraction in the form of a beautifully finished needlebook to mask the fact that dear Noah is noticeably absent from your Thursday post?

OK, I must be falling for it, because not only do I think this is a most excellent excuse for not featuring Noah today, I also think a fortnightly schedule for updating SAL progress sounds incredibly inspired! Could be my own sleep deprivation talking, but count me in!!

P.S. I got sidetracked on my way to my own Thursday post, and not because I was finishing a fabulous needlebook. But I promise to post SOON!! (As soon as I get some sleep of my own.)

Stitching seems to be one of the nicest distractions from working, no matter if the work is already done or not, lol.

Beautiful finish, Annemarie, congratulations! I'll be doing this after the pinkeep too.

Isn't it amazing that when we have a deadline, we can find many things to do that don't help us with that.
Your needlebook is beautiful and if it needs a new home - I volunteer LOL
I was up till 12:30 last night beading Fairy Moon. The quiet of late night seems perfect for stitching.
Hugs to you and Pelle

Great finish!
Deadlines are always tough... it's like they make you want to procrastinate more.

Love another primitive finish; I think my finishes would look primitive-primitive... but yours are amazing and handy.

Hope you have a good weekend, full of sleep

I'll sleep better tonight knowing what you have been doing whilst the 'cowpat' has been steaming !!

Nice little side-line here :) , gorgeous, prim (if you say so ?) No, hang on I can see what you mean (with the style). But prim or otherwise as you call your finishing , I love it , VERY much and actually it does not look very wonky to me ! :)

Take care - hugs to Pelle :)

Love this design. Something about primitive peacocks does it for me.
Beds are not for sleeping...they are for browsing charts and patterns to stitch the next day.

My god, An, what's next? I'm betting the refrigerator is holding on to it's inner parts with you around! :P Funky little finish..just your style and what better way when you're hallucinating after no sleep all night!! LOL Been there often enough, and it's the best creative time, I think. I love your nuttie little needle nest. Hugs, Deb
