You didn't really think I was talking about a human man, were you? Human men will not be welcome here for a looooong, long time, apart from (obviously) my son, my father and my brother. (Unless he is in possession of a good fortune and happens to be in want of a girlfriend and a cute four-year old) (and a cat named Pantoef) (If you know such a man and he happens to have some other Mr Darcy-esque qualities (of the Colin Firth variety), please be sure to direct him to my Profile Page where he can find my e-mail address).
Sorry, I got myself distracted... Oh yes. It's Thursday. I know everybody else in the CHS Stocking SAL group (except, possibly for Tanya and Jennifer [links in my sidebar]) has forgotten about Thursday Update Day, but I haven't. No, really, I haven't. And I have proof:
Before:
After:Voila. The only stitching I've done in the past week and this is it. Quite impressive, don't you think? I left the frogging of the N for later, because the progress would look so much less impressive without it. I don't know why exactly this N is off, but it is. It doesn't line up with the rest of what I've stitched so far. I counted and re-counted and I re-counted the re-count, but I can't find the reason for this boo-boo. But then again, I'm not a very good counter. So I will just approach the name from the other side and see what happens from there.
Tomorrow is a school day for Pelle, and another work-day for Mama. She's dreading it, honeybuns, but she will persevere, if only so that she can have a well-deserved holiday in July when the fur baby arrives.
Yours whateverly (the novel is sucking the inspiration right out of me, as you see),
Annemarie.

Oops, it IS Thursday, isn't it? Well, good thing this is a guilt-free SAL or I'd be up to my topmost freckles in guilt by now.
LOVE your progress, btw!
And Pantoef is such a cutie!!! I'll have to keep Niek away from the pictures, though! ;)
Very cute new man!! When he grows into those paws, he's going to be quite large.
Oh, you bad girl, you! When I read your last post, I immediately called Aunt Chrissy to holler "AnneMarie has a new boyfriend", to which she replied "Woo Hoo, I hope he's a lovely lovely man and will treat her like a queen!"
(We discuss all of our stitchy bloggy friends as though y'all are long lost family and we just have to keep up with every detail of your lives, btw!)
Well, the little critter might not be able to take you out for a fancy dinner, but I just know he'll love you unconditionally and will make sure that you always have a stitchy companion.
What big ears he has! What a sweet looking kitty! Maria S.
Awww, he's a sweetie! I love his eyes. :)
He's adorable, love his ears. :) And I finally did post my progress, I'll get the hang of this yet. :)
Mary
Hi Annemarie,
I hope you can get through your current translation and go on to something that's more enjoyable for you. There's nothing worse than doing things you hate.
Your kitty sure is cute. He's found a great home with you, and Pelle.
That is about the cutest kitty I've ever seen!!! Love him! Your Noah is coming along wonderfully. I can't say I enjoyed stitching the old guys coat but the rest was a lot of fun. BTW, life's too short to keep reading crappy books - put it aside and move on (just MHO, of course!). :-)
me too his eyes are adorable!!
Oh you little devil you, Annemarie! How I laughed when I read your post. THAT's your mystery male! Well, he sure is cute and probably doesn't talk back!
Pantoef - is that the same name that the little girl in Chocolat (by Joanne Harris) calls her imaginary friend? I'm looking forward to seeing more photos of this handsome little guy.
BTW, do you have to read that novel? Is it for work? Me, I've given up on diligently finishing books that I don't enjoy. I used to do it but life's too short.
I'll be in touch shortly. Cheerio.
What a cutie! I hope he'll be a mellow boy who doesn't attack your floss. :)
What an adorable face!! Never heard of a kitten with curls. (My cat will be **so** jealous when she finds out!)
Will await word of Pantoef's homecoming. In fact, I might have to stayed glued to my computer, which would, unfortunately, prevent me from making any progress on the CHS stocking SAL. You understand, I'm sure.
(Actually, rumor has it that I'm going to a not-so-LNS tomorrow. Don't know if I can get the linen I want, but keep your fingers crossed for me. In fact, feel free to stay glued to your computer awaiting an update if you need an excuse not to translate.)
Your new man is a doll! Those eyes are so blue. And look at the progress you made on Noah, Good for you. Sorry about your novel sucking.
Pantoef is soooo adorable and will bring lots of happiness to your little household. Just this morning I had a nice snuggle with my own purring kitty. Purring is very soothing.
Grand stitching as always. Hope you get this awful novel over with quickly!
Very good pick of a name - I like the French inspiration !
Don't know any Mr Darcy alas, nor anybody who looks -even from a distance- the tiniest bit like Colin... But I remain on the lookout !
Hope the duet Mommy/Pelle has a nice week end.
Pantoef is gorgeous!! Love those big, beautiful eyes. Great job on the stitching, too. As for the novel which sucketh... yeesh! Fingers crossed you'll be done *real* soon!
Ooooooh, Pantoef is just beautiful, what eyes! what ears! And a Devon Rex, too, that is a great choice. I know he will have the most pampered existence with you and Pelle.
Sorry to hear about the novel, I know what this is like - in my job, I get to do a lot of translation, being normally the only bilingual French/English person on the project, and I just cringe to read some of it, but there is no escape...
If any spare Mr Darcy types come by, feel free to send them on to Paris!I'm a Colin Firth fan too.
Pantoef is a real cutie :) and great progress on your stocking
That has got to be the sweetest kitten I've ever seen. His ears are almost bigger than his head and that just makes him so adorable. You're making great progress on your stocking. Hope that the translating gets better.
Aww i like Noah, youve made good progress!
Such a cute furbaby!
Mr Darcy types eh...i'll keep an eye out for you...what a chore that'll be ;-)
What a beautiful kitty. I love the name you've chosen.
Thanks for a great SAL. Now I may be brave enough to sign on to another one. I'm always a bit intimidated by all the "professional" stitchers out there.
I'll keep a look-out for a man fitting your description, but there's no guarantee
that I won't keep him for myself....just as a spare of course.
What a cute kitty!
That is no fun that the book you are working through is so boring... boo to that.
Great stitching as well.
Aaaah, he's so sweet! And your stocking looks gorgeous!
Do you have a nice, roaring fire close by that you can accidentally throw the novel into?! Great progress on your stocking. Noah is looking very dapper.
I LOVE your kitten! We are cat people, and have many to the point some people joke and say we have a cat farm. He has the cutest face ever!
What an adorable little kitty! Your stocking is looking great :)
What a cutie pie!!!
Those eyes....he is a poodle among poodles and a king among kings. My goodness if you could see the hairballs around here...Mr. Chatterbox is definitely not a poodle...
Noah is looking manly! :)
What a little cutie! :) I'm sure Pantoef will be wonderful company for you and Pelle :)
Awe the new kitty is so sweet! I want one! LOL! :) Your stocking is coming along very nice! I need to get back to mine - it's been neglected! :)
A handsome young man indeed and I look forward to more pictures once he moves in!
I AM amazed; pantoef looks like a cat, but a bit different; he will bring a smile on your face. That fact alone is enough reason to get him in the house asap.
Very cute kitty cat! xx
Your new baby is adorable!
OMW Pantoef is absolutely G_E_O_R_G_E_O_U_S !! He is a fine kitten cat if ever I did see one :)
Hope the 'cow pat' novel, doing your head in, is nearly translated by now.....I have an idea LOL you can always line Pantoef's new cat tray (when you get him) with the proof pages - under the cat litter , just to make you feel better. It would seem a fitting end for such utter tosh ;-)
Take care hugs to you and Pelle
Oh you great teast - and here I was thinking a wonderful new live male in your life - however, Pantoef is a beautiful alternative. Those eyes are gorgeous. Poor Pelle better watch out - he has some serious competition for cuteness lol
Oh my gosh... I have no idea how to pronounce that name, but that has got to be the cutest kitten I've seen in a long time!
