Noah and the Amazing Unicolour Nightmare Coat

Alright. Enough is enough. Noah's coat needs to be finished, because otherwise he will disappear into the drawer with the label 'WNEEGF' (Will Never Ever Ever Get Finished) on it for all eternity. One half of said coat is nearly done.
Before:

After:

Here's progress on my angel, plus the info some of you requested.

It's quite an old Kathy Barrick Dieter design, from 1998, and I've never seen the other angels from the series. It's lovely, isn't it? Is it a real tombie angel, though?

More material for my Primitive/Angels/Tombstone/Halloween wall (or alternatively, my WNEEGF drawer):

Hooray. Now for some balm or potion that will have me stitching like the dickens, and I will be a very happy bunny. Oh, and I would be an even happier bunny if sodding Ikea would finally send me the bolts and screws needed to build up my book cases. All the boxes you saw in the pictures of my previous post? They're still there, in exactly the same place and they're filled, not with stitchy goodies but with books. I cannot WAIT till they're back where they belong, i.e. on my book shelves, because that is when this lovely cottage will finally become my home.

Yours unorganizedly,
Annemarie.

I always find allowing myself one length of another color for every two of the offending/never ending color helps stave off WNEEGF. Look forward to seeing your wall. Good luck with IKEA.

Wow you've certainly got platy of stitching to be getting on with.

After making the beds up, getting the kitchen essentials unpacked getting my books and CD's unpacked would be next on my list so I can understand how frustrated you must be.

Glad you pushed through, it is looking great. I love that Rejoice pattern from CHS, but all of them would be fun to stitch. If you discover the potion you mention please let me know. CJ ok;-)

Hmmm, I can see where that dern coat would feel like it'd take forever. You're almost there.

Great new stash. I just got Sampler Sisters as well, and I want to get Garden Angels too! I know what you mean - there's so much I want to stitch yet I know I can only humanly stitch a fraction of it. Well, one can always dream!

Hope IKEA delivers soon!

Isn't it the coat that never ends because it just goes on and on my friend? Seriously. I feel your pain. It is worth it in the end, though, really. ;)

I don't think that angel is technically a tombie design... those would be the Chartmakers tombies that Kathy & GH Anne both released together... think Sister Spirit, Patience Ivy, etc. But I could be wrong. I stitched the third angel in that series (it's in my webshots album) and I have the first two charts but haven't stitched 'em yet. I am sure you could get the other charts from Kathy. Love your new stash, btw!

I really enjoyed your entry on Anna's blog.

I love the title of this post. Where do you come up with this stuff!?!?! Love the tombie collection. I've done a couple of "morbid-themed" items, as my mother calls them. My neighbor the designated 'Queen of Halloween' always seems to end up with them at her house though.

Ooooo, ahhhh, ooooo, ahhhh. Mr. Noah is looking absolutely fabulous, monochrome coat and all. In fact, I think his outerwear complements his beard quite nicely.

As for organization, it's highly overrated . . . unless it has to do with stitching projects and supplies.

Your friend, Linen
(who has to drive three hours in either direction to even set foot inside an IKEA)

Thank you so much for showing Kathy's Angel chart, I think Siobhan is right, it isn't strictly speaking a tombie, but I love it all the same.

We are so happy we have IKEA very nearby now. DD1 is a happy visitor ;-). Maybe we can help.

I love NOAH and I don't think a multicolor coat would look good on him. You must finish his coat before winter comes, so you still have about 4 months for it.

That's a lot stitched on Noah! He looks great, and so does the angel.

If you find that potion, please let me know where: I'd like some too!

You have some AWESOME prim projects, Annemarie. And your angel ... oh, don't even get me started. I love her. Noah's coat? Yeah, I think Anna's suggestion was right on the mark - do a length before allowing yourself to do a more fun part, and little by little that coat will be whittled down to nothing. :) It's my new approach to borders, LOL.

I always feel that way when I'm stitching Santa's coat. SO much red.

Oh how lovely Noah is looking. I have him on my Want to do list. He is so beautiful, great job. I love your angel as well. All your work is so gorgeous.

I know lots about the neverending color (ATS fill-in at the bottom ... I'll never use Green Apple again), but you're almost finished with Noah's coat. Go, baby, go!

I may have to go in search for that Barrick angel. I really like her, and she'd fit in perfectly with my others.

I can see how you would get sick of stitching in all that brown. I think Anna had a good idea about switching colors after so many threads. Good luck with Ikea. You don't feel at home until all your stuff is put in their proper places!!

Your Primitive/Angels/Tombstone/Halloween wall? Now that I want to hear all about when I arrive on Tuesday. Speaking of that...I am off to my quilt studio to work on a little surprise. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute. Comes from being fickle and I have changed my gift for you now three, yes count it, three times. LOL! I know your pain with unicolor. I have the same with my Virgins. Funny as I don't mind a single color for my monograms so I think the design makes a difference as to whether stitching in one color is fun or not. Is Pantoef ready for us to descend?

Hugs ~

Mr Noah looks good in the coat...you will pleased with him when he is done. Sometimes we don't see this when we pick a chart. Yikes!

Moving would be a nightmare for me right now - there's just way too much stuff to go through! Hang in there, An! A little here and a bit there and sooner, or later, the job will be accomplished. :)

Your stitching pace is fine-life gets in the way-especially in the summer when you want to enjoy the great outdoors.
Great job with the tombstone angel, which I had no idea you were 'into' when I sent it. I have to chuckle because the now defunct store label of the show where it came from is still on the package. ; )

Pretty progress on Noah, Annemarie!
Please don't tuck him in a drawer:)
We're enjoying his progress too much!
Beautiful stash!! and love the angel!

Can hardly wait to see all those new patterns in real life tomorrow. I'll bring my Halloween finishes which aren't framed yet and a few new designs for my Halloween/Autumn and Christmas walls.

See you in the morning.

Ick. I'd have a hard time finishing that coat, too! He's looking good though, and you'll be glad you stuck it out in the end.

I can't believe that HUGE, giant, crazy PS Christmas project you have! You're right though, Christmas will be here before we know it... I better get started on some of my holiday stitching, too.

I love Noah's coat but I see what
you mean about trying to finish it!
Be sure and make some new photos
of your cottage once you get all
settled! Is it very far from where
you did live?
Moving is a chore but exciting as well. What does Pelle think about it?
Best wishes....
