Of Christmas and restlessness

Let's get this out of the way first, shall we?
Before:

After:
I am restless, my friends. With plenty of time on my hands to stitch to my heart's content, I can't seem to be able to find the peace of mind to settle down with my stitching. I swerve from one piece to the next, stitching not more than one or two lengths on The Blue Lady, Bea Pot, Olde Shaker Tune, Noah and Where My Heart Blooms. I was nearing the bottom of my WIP pile in search of something that would hold my attention, when I stumbled across this one:

Now you may be as surprised as I was when I found that this was the project for me right now -- okay, your surprise probably surpasses mine, because you didn't even know I had this one on the go, did you? Last Christmas, whilst surveying my walls and concluding I did not have one decent Christmas project to adorn them with, I decided to take all the Prairie Schooler Christmas charts I own and stitch them together on one HUGE piece of fabric. Fully intending, of course, to be finished by the time the following Christmas rolled around. Well, that's not going to happen :o) But you know what? It's nearly Christmas, honeybuns. No, really, don't laugh at me. You mark my words, by the time Halloween rolls around you will think back and say to yourself 'Darn. Annemarie was right after all.' And I'm in the mood for Christmas stitching.

My restlessness is probably caused by the new, furry, addition to our family. Amazing that such a little being can have such an effect on your daily life! Of course, this one's pretty special. Pantoef needs me to follow him around with the camera all day, because he needs pictures for his blog. Cheeky bastard...

I'm off to do some more Christmas stitching. Harmien will be here tomorrow for some serious chatting, coffee slurping and stitching. And Pantoef-admiring, of course. I leave you with proof that stitching and cats do not a good match make :o)

Yours restlessly,
Annemarie.

I use to stitch quietly by myself and then sis gave me Pretti Kitti Katt. Pretti likes to play ball, so we play ball. She will NOT wait until I finish the stitch or the row. She is a sweetie though. Maria S.

That is one humungous piece of fabric! I've been restless today too; I had pretty much all day (apart from 1 30 min lesson) to myself and I managed 1 length of thread on my stocking and 1 length on Lo. Pathetic, huh?! Although I did read a book pretty much from start to finish, so it wasn't a wasted day.

Whoa--big piece of fabric! Nifty angel, though! I'm restless today too, but no stitching here at work, although I'd love to see their faces if I took out the needlework and commenced stitching at my desk.

Your Christmas project will really be something when it's finished!

I know all too well that kitties and stitching do not mix! Thank goodness I now have a room I can sneak off to and close the door with no felines allowed.

I'm feeling your restlessness Annemarie!!
What an awesome project you've started with the Prairie Schooler Charts!!! It really will be amazing!
Good progress on Noah! Still closer to a finish than you were:)

Cindy is right that project is awesome but it will look spectacular when it is finished. Panteof is equally spectactular and I am not a cat person but he has definitely changed my mind. What beed is he please? He is just too gorgeous for words.

By the way did you know that the real Mrs. Slocombe passed away last week? Because she was one of my favorites as is the piece you are doing that you nicknamed Mrs. Slocombe - what a great memory piece in her honor. Lots of Love Patti xxx

Annemarie,

Wow, all I can say is you don't kid around when it comes to Christmas stitching! That's a very big piece of linen. I'm sure it's going to be gorgeous. Do you have it all planned out?

I look forward to seeing it develop. Hope it cures your restlessness.

I have realized that we all get more restless during the bright summer months and it's harder to focus on stitching. That piece of linen for PS is one big honking piece of fabric. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on it.

Good luck ignoring Panteof so you can stitch. ;-)

Whoa, that is a huge piece of fabric, but you have really got my interest up with this one. Have you decided how you're going to lay everything out! I can't wait to see it. I love PS designs and to see a bunch of them stitched together is going to be a real delight!

OMG!! What a huge HONKIN' project you got going there!!! GOOD LUCK, that's all I gotta say, lol!
Especially with that pussycat you have there! I'm glad to know that someone else thinks a new furry addition to the family can be slightly upsetting to the old routine! We had a delicate balance last year with just the two pugs, then we had to go and get Muttley and our lives are just NOW settling back down! it's a fine line we're walking here, lol!
Anyhoo...have fun with Harmien, slurp some coffee for me!

Now that is going to be one biiiiiig Christmas piece. PS is such fun to stitch and you are going to have a great time.

You are so right about little four footers keeping us humans busy and I'm sure those with blogs need extra attention since you never know what they may say about you otherwise.(LOL)

Have a wonderful time with Harmien.

Hope to see you soon.

And restless sums me up to a T lately.....

You must have LOADS of PS Christmas charts, lol! Wow, that will be spectacular when you're done. Have you planned a layout? And what will you do with the finished piece? I'm so curious, hehe. Nice progress on the stocking!

Have you taught Pantoef to thread your reserve needles?

I've also been restless, but it's a state of mind.... ;)

OK, I am soooo sitting by my computer waiting for your next posting on the new GIGANTIC Prairie Schooler project. And I will remain here, faithfully, through every last stitch. . . . Um, when is the projected finish? Maybe I should bring my CHS stocking over by the computer to stitch while I wait.

OMG Annemarie how are you ever going to fill that huge piece of fabric! It makes me shiver just contemplating it. You are one brave woman. :) I may be tempted to start a reasonable Christmas project but it will be nothing compared to yours!

I just visited Pantoef at his blog. He's enjoying life at your place!

Love the christmas challenge. And I'm totally with you: sinterklaas and christmas are around the corner (thinking stitchingwise).
Have you seen this project by the way??

Noah is coming along fabulously.
I have to chuckle ...your Pantoef is helping you stitch.
Hmmmmm this big project will take up a bit of your time. Wow huge! It will be wonderful.
You're right only a few months 'til Christmas and I have to finish Boo flip it's for Halloween!
Have a good weekend.

Now this is what I call a BAP. It will take some time until it's done. But it will be a lot of fun because it's all Prairie Schooler. I can easily understand why you got caught by it.
Noah is coming along great, too.

Cindy said...

LOL! That is one *HUGE* piece of fabric, and sounds like something I would do :)

Your Noah is looking fabulous!

I can't wait to see the designs you put on that HUGE piece of fabric! Talk about ambitious, but I'll bet it's just beautiful when it's done. :)

You know, of course, that I'm using all PS's for my Me,Myself&I RR, don't you? It's a Christmas Theme. Naturally, I have only collected my charts, however, but I do also have the thing spaced out on my design board! LOL It should be fun to see how each of ours turns out. I won't have mine done until 2011, probably!! And, my fabric is black. :P
I love little Pantoef! He knows a cozy spot when he sees one! You've made incredible progress on your stitching lady, by the way. I'm amazed!
Hugs, Deb

Love the photo of your new friend and his attempt to contribute to your stitching.
Take care
