A cry for help

Honeybuns. Help me!

There are SO many things wrong with this image. To name but a few:
1. It's not a joke.
2. I have to now go and put all of these projects back in their bags and their hiding places.
3. Not one of these projects is calling my name. Nothing. Not even a whisper.
4. So, obviously, I have to start something new.

But at least I finished my translation. ON TIME!

Yours... let's not even go therely,
Annemarie.

Oh my! But it really is a lovely lookling pile. So colorful and full of life. I really like the large piece in the back right of the photo with the birds and leaves. You could pack them up and send them all to me!!haha

I'm sorry - let us know what the new thing is, won't you? At least the translation is done!

Bummer on nothing calling your name. Looks some pretties in there - but a new start is always fun too! Good luck!

Dear Annemarie, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the image, it's a normal, no, advisable situation for any serious stitcher! So be happy with yourself and enjoy. Spread them out all over your home, start something new and admire all the wonderful little stitches you've made so far :) Actually I might do just the same, that brightens up a day!

Congratulations on finishing your translation!

I don't know if it helps any, but I think a lot of stitchers are in the same situation. I have a new rule for myself - if it doesn't excite me from the first stitch I don't stitch it. You have some pretty projects.

Well I actually don't see a problem? And certainly not the disaster that you have labelled this lovely picture with. But if I'm feeling guilty over some of my old WIP's, then I'll chose one and start working on it. Sometimes I end up falling in love with it all over again and keep with it. But sometimes I just can't keep it up and it goes back into hiding again and I'll try with another one. Congrats on finishing your translation!!!

Um, Annemarie? What about The Blue Lady? (ducks for cover)

I am sitting here chuckling at your dilema. You see I am sure that I have that many (if not more) wips myself. But I just can't let it worry me. If I want to start something new then gosh darn it I will start something new. The only projects I push to finish are exchanges. Everything else is for my joy of the needle. And if a finsh comes of it than Yippee and if it takes a long time than so what.

Life is too short to worry about it. Stitch for your pleasure and relaxation. Whatever your little heart desires.

They're all gorgeous, but I can understand that nothing calls.

Just start something new and ENJOY!

They are beautiful, but I see you dilemma...Yuko recently finished Summer Basket (I think that's the name of that BBD I espy there.); perhaps you'd be "bitten" if you looked in on it?

I confess I feel greatly reassured by my 10-ish smaller wips in comparison.

I got your "mental email", btw; did you get my reply? No? Well, my desire for a cat continues as ever, and I WOULD get a rex if only I could be guaranteed that it'd be half as cute as Pantoef--I see a lot of rex pics where they're trying for the so-ugly-I'm-cute, but they fall about a mile short of the wrap-around. Perhaps one has to travel to Europe to obtain a cute one? ;)

Congrats on your on-time finish! :D
And TGIF it's a sunny, almost-spring day here, too!

I'm a great organizer...but I'm afraid I'm not close enough to physically come help you. ;) Let's see, you can "put one foot in front of the other", "whistle while you work", play "Let's Tidy Up The Stitchery"...what other musical advice is there? Good luck!

How about running a poll on your blog and it can be our voices which tell you what to stitch next?

But congrats on getting your translation done on time!

Ooh, that's a LOT of WIPs LOL! But where's Noah? I don't see him there.

Congrats on finishing your translation on time!! As to the pile of wips, life is too short to fret about your hobby - start something new if that's what you feel like doing!!

You've got lots of great projects going :) My answer would be "go knit", LOL!!!

I am glad to read that I am not the only one who thinks that starting a new project is the solution to hearing nothing screaming at you. Way to go Annemarie!

I like what Kristen said! ha ha ha. Does she know you well?

First, congratulations on meeting your deadline! Did you collapse in a heap...on top of your pile of stitching?

There are some really nice things in your pile! But I'm not one to comment on picking up something from an UFO pile because I have tried twice this year to pick up two projects from my pile and I failed. There was a good reason each time that I put them aside!

ps nope the package hasn't arrived...yet. Soon!
pps I liked that you called your photo "Disaster"!

My answer is bring a couple over here and we can stitch our WIP's together - what fun!!

Glad you got the translation finished!

Where's the problem? You just need to continue one of your BBDs, my friend (said the addict).

I, like KarenV, am looking for "Noah" in the stack. His noticeable absence tells me you must have finished him, right?

Oh, and you can't possibly hear any of **these** calling to you because your massive Prairie Schooler all-designs-stitched-on-one-fabric project is drowning them out. (I'm right again, aren't I?)

Heidi said...

LOL! I don't know any other Annemarie than this one of queen of starts. You have had an effect on me and I just keep starting one thing after another. Just look at my blog and you will see tons of them. But I did pull a very old UFO to work on it yesterday. Once I started it, I was a happy little bee buzzing along with needle and thread. Good to hear all went well with your deadline.

Hugs en groetjes ~
Heidi

The pile in itself is a huge achievement in my opinion. :D

Julianne said...

What a lovely pile. The one that draws me in is the chicken on that pretty red roof. What does that one look like when it's done?

You see what you've done by showing me this drool worthy pile of lovelies? LOL I also love that pink and brown sampler on the right side. What a great color combination. It's one that always draws me in!

I hope the winds of change will blow your way and make you want to start working on one of these gorgeous projects. I'm here to cheer you on even it it's a new start. :)

Deb said...

Ooh Annemarie - I feel your pain. All those projects look wonderful, but therein lies the dilemna - they're all wonderful that you don't know what to stitch. How about picking one and mixing it up with a new project? Maybe just do a thread a night on the stashed piece.

Of course, with that said, I should take my own advice I think!!! What's on your mind to start???

doris said...

This is the post that comes after the last one? When you showed us all that great progress? Hey, you can only hold one thing in your hands at a time to stitch, and you might as well love what you're stitching. Just do whatever feels good.

Yes, it does sound like time for something new, but first -- stop by my blog to see that you've been nominated for a Beautiful Blog award!

glamlawlib said...

Wow, yep I agree with Barbara, I'd be quite pleased if I'd even just started that many projects :)

Mine are even prior that stage, i.e. they are not even started ;)

It was a lovely photo to look at :)

Hazel said...

I'm thinking my wips are getting slightly out of control but not as bad as yours hawhaw!! I actually think they look rather nice and gives me a lot of pleasure just looking at them and that's what it's about right? x

Siobhán said...

Yep, there's nothing to it, you just have to start something new!! ;) Beautiful projects, though!

Anonymous said...

Why are you tormenting yourself?
I think all these projects were just perfectly happy in their ziplock bags...

Nicole said...

I'm so glad I'm not alone.

Margaret said...

Great picture! Don't worry, they will all start calling again sometime. For now, just pick up the one that needs the least work so it will be a quick finish and a great feeling of achievement. Have fun at Harmien's - I'll be thinking of you.

Mel said...

What a cute photo! Even if they are WIP or UFO's. I feel so much better about my long collection that seems to keep getting longer all the time. ;)

Cindy said...

LOL! You are definitely not alone on this one. It is always much more fun to start a new project than to plug away at one already in progress.

You're a very brave girl, though, to pull all of those wonderful projects into one spot and document the evidence :)
