Colour me blocked

I'm on the verge of finishing a translation and I find myself suffering from writer's block. Me being me, i.e. the queen of freak afflictions, I don't suffer from ordinary writer's block, but from translator's block. Whoopee. Translator's block has a nasty side effect: it makes me want to stitch like crazy, but at the same time, every stitch I make is wrong, out of whack, with twisted threads, stitched over three instead of over two or (heaven forbid) over one, wrong colour in the right place, right colour in the wrong place... My goal for today was to finish the tree on BBD Rites of Spring for our SAL, and although I did get pretty far, I didn't quite make it to the end because of all the unstitching that went on.
Last week:

This week:

I'm still really enjoying this one though. I haven't worked on anything else since Monday. Today was such a crazy day that I don't feel like writing much. Or is it... Could it be...? Surely not? I can't have writer's block on top of translator's block-induced stitcher's block? Now that, my dear friends, would be something to worry about.

Speaking of worrying, for all of you perpetual worriers out there: thanks so much for your support and your sweet words of encouragement. My foot feels better today and is starting to look as svelte as the other hoof again. AND the test results are in, but they still can't say anything until probably March 18th. Isn't that nice?

I'm going to play with my kumuhumihimimohohoho disk tonight. Or continue with Bea Pot. She hasn't seen much action lately, poor dear. Anyway, I hope you're not blocked in any way, shape or form, and I wish you the best of weekends.

Yours... can't-think-of-anything-tonight-Must-be-the-translator's-blockedly,
Annemarie

PS: Craft-i-leigh, thank you for your comment on my last post. Could you send me an e-mail, so I can answer your question? You can find my e-mail address in my profile. Thanks!

RoS is looking lovely Annemarie :) I meant to stitch some more on mine today (I wanted to get to a certain point before taking a pic) but it didn't happen. I'll have to share my progress tomorrow instead.

Sending you some anti-block vibes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

glad to hear your leg is getting better.
writers block reminds me of what we call a 'brain fart' if we can't come up with something to say or we forget :D
BBD is looking awesome..

Glad to hear your foot is better! So strange that everything doctors do takes so long.

I haven't experienced translator's block, but my age-induced lobotomy makes it really tough to come up with words I used to know. ;)

Hey, I bought one of those Kumihimo disk thingies last year at, of all places, the Gourd Festival. It seems serious gourd artists make their own trims for their gourd vase creations. Mine still sits in it's original unopened package in the craft cabinet. Too much math for my taste, but I love the results I see on various websites.
You've been into some seriously nice stitching lately. I'm stuck on my mail-art contest entry. It's nearly done, but I am so worried, as it is my first official contest entry and it has to make it all the way to Finland without falling apart.

Translator's block? Personally, I haven't experienced translator's block, because that would require me to speak more than one language, but I am far too well acquainted with editor's block. Oddly enough, I've experienced stitching-related side effects, too. Do you think these ailments could be related?

Speaking of ailments, glad to hear you're making progress on the foot/leg front. Just to be safe, though, please refrain from happy dancing over any finished projects till you're 100 percent again. OK?

You may have translators' block, but you've made good progress in other areas. It's such a relief to hear that your foot is finally looking better. I'll be holding my breath for the test results; they're sure making you wait long enough. Must mean it's not too bad.

RoS is looking great. I'm looking forward to reading a fun report on your kumihimo adventure. :)

Giggling at the thought of svelte hooves. Are you related to Pan? ;)

Seriously, very glad that your own fine shape is returning and I hope that trend will continue. The results are in, but you have to wait nearly half a month? What's up with that?

I hope your translator's block disappeared already, never to return. Or at least not for a very long time! :)

And now I've forgotten to add that Rites of Spring is looking wonderful!

You're doing great on Rites - despite the unstitching. I hope that block goes away real soon.

I'm glad to hear your hooves are close to matching in appearance again. ;) I hope they have some good answers for you, when they finally unveil the results!

Your RoS looks wonderful. Good luck with the various blockages you've been afflicted with as of late. ;)

you can't have a writer's block: we're all here visiting and READING what you have written. there's nothing wrong with your writing skills....
I'm glad you're getting well after all this time! It took way too long, and I'm curious about the testresults.

Nice stitching! You have been stitching a lot lately and haven't you been suffering from startitis??

Your work looks nice! I am too a translator, from italian, and at the moment I ahve flu, and a lot of translation to finish... I am finding all the possible excuse in order not to translate, but to stitch, watch movies etc... it's hopeless, but I need to force myself... (the stitching goes on quite well, actually).
