OMG OMG OMG

Don't worry, I'm not OMG-ing over my mystery virus. I tried, but it has no discernible effect. I'm still spending my days with my hideously swollen and painful foot perched up on a fleece blanket covered chair. No, the reason for this joyful exclamation (for joyful it is), is the arrival of some serious stash. Behold:

After stitching the BBD Christmas ornament from the 2008 JCS Ornament Issue I remember thinking 'they should make stockings for every season'. They're sooooooo much fun to stitch and so quick and really easy to finish, and what do you know? The ladies over at BBD read my mind. (Let's all hope they also heard me shouting out in disgust over the latest Loose Feathers design)
I also ordered The Goode Huswife's Ida Mae Crow and Mrs. Pearson by CHS.

The first time I saw a picture of Mrs. Pearson I thought 'Ewl'. I think I may even have let loose a 'WTF'? Then I thought 'Well, she does have a bird's nest on her head.' I looked again and thought 'That's quite brilliant'. And then it occurred to me that I seem to have a penchant for stitching weird-looking ladies (remember the blue one). Wouldn't they look perfect together?

Last of the stitching goodies: The Goode Huswife's Home Sweet Home, plus required threads. Ohhhhh my goodness me. How luscious.

A couple of weeks ago I spent a bit of time glued to my computer screen, watching videos on YouTube on how to work the Kumihimo disk. Then dear Von wrote a blog post about her Kumihimo disk and the gorgeous cords she made with them, and I couldn't resist.
Haven't tried it yet, but will keep you posted.

A teeny wee bit of progress on Rise and Shine:

Of course, with all the goodies came a bill that had me reaching for my smelling salts, so I think I will devote the rest of my day to earning some money.

Yours stashfully,
Annemarie.

A great set of charts. Like you I love the Home Sweet Home chart and having seen the threads it's heading straight onto my wish list.

You disk arrived! I hope it came with a good instruction sheet and that you'll have lots of fun with it. If you have any questions, you know you can ask me and we'll both wallow in our ignorance and perhaps figure it out. :D

Ooh, nice stash! I'm intrigued by the Kumihimo disk too, please share when you make any braid with it.

Rise and Shine is looking lovely, I really like that colour combination!

LOL! The Fremme lady, Mrs. Pearson and even old Ida Mae Crow in her spotted dress do have a similar vibe somehow. I'm glad to hear you seeming perky, and am hoping your mystery illness resolves itself soon. I know what you mean about the stash bill--I've been spending money lately on stash--but nothing else--like a drunken sailor.

Annemarie,

Your new stash is great! I've got my eye on all those beautiful Gloriana silks. That Goode Huswife piece is going to be lovely. I can't wait to see what you'll stitch first.

I hope you are feeling better.

Great stash haul! Love the start on the La D Da. I have no idea about what the disk thing is, but it looks intriguing!! Can't wait to see what you do with it.

OK, I totally understand the need to earn money. But I hope you manage to spend some of your foot-propping time with needlework in hand, too. After all, you have some *lovely* new stash to help you feel better.

I considered buying a Kumihimo disk, too. Will anxiously await a report on it's usefulness.

Ooooh, nice stash! Not sure what the disk is about so will check it out. Hoping you are feeling better bit by bit.

Oh, as soon as I saw that you have Mrs. P, I thought of her with the blue lady! They'll be great friends. I recently acquired the little stockings, too. Can't wait to stitch those.

I can't wait to read more about the disk. I'm completely intimidated by it, but I can't wait to see more.

I'm just peeking: I don't buy any new designs this year!!! but you make it very difficult not to give that up... But the almost-ps about the bill makes it also a little easier ;-)

how are you managing with your foot and a 4-year old in the home? it sounds like that's not a happy combination.

There's nothing like new stash to make you feel good! Great choices. The Kumihimo looks like great fun (just watched a video), thanks for adding a new temptation to my long list :-)

What gorgeous new stash Annemarie! I think those new BBD stockings do make up for that last nasty LF design! I'm still having nightmares about that one! LOL! I do love the Good Huswife's one too. Hope to see you stitching that one soon:)

Have stash...will pay the bills...lol! But I am glad to hear you so cheerful. Being creative helps keep our minds off of things. You really had a big stash injection and now have lots of things to do. Good thing you have to stay on the couch for a while? :)

Hugs ~

You have some terrific pieces! I am new to the world of stitching and have been browsing various blogs to try and gain some knowledge and get some tips / ideas. I originally started with a stamped, then counted “kits”. I’m working on my 2nd chart and have noticed some big differences in floss types and quality.
My Cross Stitch Mentor has told me that I’m ready to graduate from Aida, but I really like Aida. Maybe it’s just beginner’s comfort???
If you would answer my question… What type of fabric or fabrics do you prefer and why? Brands and counts?
I would appreciate any advice, thanks!

Great new stash, An! Some of these designs on second and third look really are incredible. Oh your poor foot sounds so painful. I hope you get some results soon.

What really really great new stash. I am on a stash starvation diet right now but when I go to the States that will be over and done with and depending on which shop is nearer to LA then that's the one I shall be visiting. But I really LOVE what you bought and it was well worth it. Hope you are feeling better soon. Lots of Love Patti xxx

Great stash! My wallet is recovering from the last market offerings, too. I just love those little BBD stockings. Haven't gotten them yet, but they are definitely calling my name. I was very intrigued by Von's post on the Kumihimo disk, too. Looking forward to seeing what you create with that!
