You wil be pleased to know The Plan is wOrKiNg!!! I’ve finished ONE gift (okay, so I still need to finish-finish it. Shut up), and I’m very pleased with it.
And I’ve made progress on this lovely thing
AND I’ve started another one.
I just had to.
It’s a mystery.
And it is rumoured to feature some birds.
Birds Of A Feather by With Thy Needle & Thread. Is it strange or even wrong to be in love with a piece of fabric? The picture does not do the fabric any justice, but I promise you it's gorgeous. It’s been in my stash for years and years, a lovely soft 32 count Silkweaver Solo, perfect in every way.
And here’s my TuSaL jar for this month:

I don’t know about you, but I think it should look much fuller, don’t you, considering that my needle has seen more action in recent weeks than in the months before put together? What happened to all the orts? These two look like they’ve got something to hide. I bet they’ve had their paws in my orts jar: (click to embiggen, to catch the sinister and untrustworthy look in Pipien's eyes)

In between translating and... translating really, I’ve been having the most wonderful time searching the WWW for pictures of people standing on benches.

Again I ask you, is it strange or wrong or possibly even fetishistic that these pics make me deliriously happy? If you get that happy bubbly feeling when you see this (as I do), check out the Happy Bench Monday pool on Flickr, it’ll brighten your day. By the way, the blanket you see here is for Pelle, and I hope to finish it before his birthday on 2 August [insert maniacal laughter here].
Yours battily,
Annemarie.

Beautiful stitchy progress! And those kitties do look like they might know where your extra orts are!
Love those bench monday pics (and yours!) Love your shoes, I've got a few pairs like them in red and green and teal...
Hello my dear friend. You always make me smile. I am happy to see you have made many pretty stitches. And yes, that two cats do have that devilish look in their eyes. Don't they know you need those threads for your TUSAL!!!
All the best to my batty friend and her sweet son.
That Pipien certainly has THE look. If he was a person, can you see him as the very proper English butler in a murder mystery? hmmm?
Love your stitching there and the blanket for Pelle looks great!
Love your stitching!!! What's that first piece? So pretty! The blanket for Pelle is so pretty too -- hope you get it done in time! Bench pics -- what fun!
Really, accusing those poor innocent looking little kitties!? They are never guilty of ANYTHING. Love the blanket...I see the cats already love their version of it. Will have to check out the bench thing...sounds like the quirky sort of stuff I'd be in to.
Gift looks fabulous so far, what is it? no don't tell, it must be a secret .)
Oooooh the WTN&T mystery looks fabulous, I am eagerly awaiting mine.
The bench is wonderful, crochet too, but am not sure about the legs :))
Noticed the warm weather in nl, I should have stayed there!
LOVE your cool new hobby of checking out (and contributing to) pictures of people standing on benches. Now to go find a bench around here ....
:D
Honestly, I wasn't going to say anything at all about finished finished. But since you brought it up... JK!! Everything looks good. Can't wait to see your progress on birds. I know several people that are doing that one, so you'll have to keep up, muhahahahah!!! Can't wait to see your progress!!
Mayhaps the wind blew over the bench and whisked away many of your orts? I have all confidence that a new quilt will be finished by the birthday of Pelle!
Annemarie - Think you are right - the cats look to have been up to no good - perhaps if you take a picture of their feet up on a bench all will be well between you and the cats once again~
Oh thanks for the bench link, I so much enjoyed taking a look at all those photos. I think I could stare beautiful photos all day long.
Your stitching looks lovely and I love your bench photo with the blanket! Cats are always wonderful :)
Wow, it's good to see you so busy stitching, my batty friend (with the batty cats) :-) Lovely WIPS!
Enjoy your beautiful projects, and isn't it a good feeling when you make such good progress on something you're stitching? I like Pelle's blanket too! Love your red clogs on the wooden bench!
Wow Annemarie, that blanket for Pelle looks amazing already! And yes, the picture on the bench really makes me smile, I will go and check out that Flickr. Thank you!
Have a lovely day,
Maaike
Your WIPs are wonderful! I love love love that blanket for Pelle! I keep showing my daughters photos of knitting and crocheting, as they do both, and I get, "Oh, I must do that!" and then they go back to doing something non knitty or crochety. Good for you for getting working on your gifts. I have that same mental block. I need to do ornaments from last year's gifts for my nieces and just thinking about it makes me want to hyperventilate and run away from my stitching chair.
