This morning, I did start to feel a whole lot better when I saw the additions to the ABC Stitch Nashville list. Only yesterday I was proclaiming not to like anything to come out of Nashville this year. But then I saw the new Goode Huswife designs. O-o-o-o-o-o-o-oh, my goodness me. They would look SO good on my 'to stitch list'. And I haven't even seen the new Blackbird Designs designs yet!
Speaking of Blackbird Designs, I'm joining Giovanna, Cristina and Karen (hi Karen, I'm not sure you know about my playing along?) in a BBD Rites of Spring SAL. We will be posting progress pics every Thursday, starting on February 19th. I'm already halfway with this one and I really want to add it to my 'finished and waiting to be framed list'.
Speaking of projects that are headed in the direction of 'finished and waiting to be framed' with gathering speed, here's my progress on Nobody Loves Me.
I adore it. I don't really want to finish it, and I'm very glad I'm only, roughly, halfway.
Could I bother you to look at this next picture and tell me if you don't find it a bit autumnal/Thanksgiveny to send to someone as a giftie at this time of the year?
I just liked the design (it's a BBD freebie from 2003) and thought the giftee might like it too.
Remember you can still leave a comment to my previous post if you would like a chance to win the chart for Loose Feathers number 33! I will announce the winner next Saturday.
Until next time!

Dear Annemarie -
Tulips flower in spring (you should know) - hence why should your design look autumnal ?
How many projects are you at simultaneously ? Seems a lot to me...
Hope all the bad germs will soon have deserted your home.
V.
Working backwards through your post:
1) I don't think the design looks autumnal at all and I'm sure it would be well-received at any time of the year :)
2) Nobody loves me is looking wonderful so far!
3) Glad to hear that you're on board with the RoS SAL :) I did a tiny bit the other night and am almost halfway done. I would love to get this finished this year too!
4) I can't wait to see what BBD brings out at Nashville - hopefully later today!
5) And last but certainly not least, I'm sorry to hear that you've both been poorly. I hope that the dreaded pneumonia sorts itself out soon. Pelle looks so full of it in that photo, poor little thing!
(I'm obviously trying to win some kind of award for the longest blog comment - sorry!)
I'm so sorry to read that you're ill, and I hope that you'll be better soon. Your stitching is lovely, as always, and that little BBD is so charming that whoever gets it will be thrilled at any time!
Hmm, from previous experience I think tulips are kinda springy!!! so it is appropriate. I love your "No body loves me" Even your stitching has a sense of humor. Poor Pelle still under the weather and now you too. Someday there will be an end to this and you will look back and smile or at least pretend it was okay
So sorry that you and Pelle are feeling miserably...I'm commiserating with you (although, it baffles me that I should be sick when none of the kiddos are!!!)
Lovely stitching as always! And I don't think that piece looks Autumnal at all...if it is, you could always send it to me and something else to your other recipient, LOL ;)
Oh, Annemarie, I so identify with your Snotston Upon Phlegm description. We are there too! Want to meet at the cafe?
Nevertheless, your WIPS look wonderful! The BBD one looks fine for this time of the year to me, with the rose-colored flower. You don't find many of those in the autumn.
Nobody Loves Me is wonderful! I think your Blackbird Designs gift could be either Autumn (cornucopia) or Spring (tulip) so I would go ahead with your plans.
Your poor little Pelle looks miserable. I hope both of you feel much better soon.
tulips in spring...perfect!
Hope you are feeling better soon!
Karin (a Dutch in NJ)
Get better soon, both of you!! Poor Pelle, he looks like he has a terrible dose, as they say here!
I haven't seen pics, but heard descriptions of the BBDs and they sound wonderful. I'm not big into smalls (no pun intended) but these sound wonderful.
Your Nobody Loves Me progress--gorgeous!!
I'll be happily cheering you all on with your RoS SAL. YGGs! :)
PS, sorry, I think the BBD freebie is adorable & definitely not too autumnalish. :)
I think it's very autumnal, thanksgivinglike, but who cares. It will be fall before we know it... ;-0
I'm sorry to read Pelle has spreaded the virus. I hope you feel better by now. We need SPRING
{{{Annemarie and Pelle}}} I hope you both feel better soon.
Nobody is loves me is looking great and the freebie is lovely.
Tulips spell spring to me.
It's very pretty!
Nobody loves me is so sweet!
I bet you are loving the 'Nobody loves me' stitch because you are feeling so poorly. You know, kinda goes with the territory of misery loves company!;-) It's looking cute.
The BBD design is great, not autumnal at all.
Hope you and Pelle feel better soon. Spring IS coming!
First off..I hope you soon are feeling better....and Pelle too.
But my heaven's Master Pelle is looking like a big grown up boy! He's changed so much in his looks, or at least I think he has :) What a handsome young man he is, dear boy.
All your stitching is just perfect An and how could anyone fault that lovely gift that you are making for the lucky giftee :)
You have some lovely projects on the go. I don't think the final one is at all Autumnal.
Hope your both feeling a lot better soon.
I don't know why children so freely share their bugs, but not their toys. :) Hope you're feeling better soon - the both of you! In the meantime, I'm buying stock in a tissue company.
Your little BBD freebie is adorable and I understand why you think it's autumnal as the colors appear more muted than spring colors, and there's that cornucopia-like container. But tulips are spring flowers, so I'd say its a trans-seasonal design. :D
Although the flower is coming out of a horn of plenty, the design isn't at all Thanksgivingy in my mind. The colors are so vibrant that it makes me think of spring, not autumn. Just my two cents worth. ;)
So you're still down with the Ugh? I hope you two will both be healthy (and stay that way!!) very, very soon. Sending get-well wishes!!
OH, before I forget, I LOVE your Nobody Loves Me! This design just cracks me up. Love it!
1.) I look forward to your posts, Annemarie. The longer the better! (But get well soon!)
2.) I just found the new BBD on the Hoffman site, and I want every one! They're doing a whole series of stockings, based on the months of the year. And they have a cute little pincushion, and on and on. (Don't they know there's a recession?)
3.) Nobody loves me is adorable!
4.) Tulips are for spring, silly!
So glad that Pelle is doing better. All those secretions are better out than in...however gross and yucky they may be.
Nobody Loves Me is very cute!
Sorry to read that you are ill and that Pelle still couldn't get rid of that stuff. I can only hope that both of you will feel better soon.
Nobody Loves Me is coming along great! And no, I don't think that the BBD freebie looks autumnal in any way - not with that wonderful tulip!
Arm schaap. Het is gewoon niet eerlijk dat Pelle nog steeds ziek is. En jij nu ook? Bah!!
I think your tulip looks lovely in any season. Love your progress on the WIPs and can hardly wait to see your new 'birds' start. The colors are gorgeous.
oh my :C now you are sick as well.Hope to see you better soon.Your projects are looking very nice...and the tulip is pretty.very spring-like
I know how you feel, I have the flu villa here. All of the kids have been sneezing, snorting, fever crap since last week with my daughter getting the brunt of this week. I hope you and Pelle feel better quick. Your projects look great.
What's your favorite Good Huswife design-I like Ida Mae Crow! The book will be on it's way most likely by Friday.
The BBD freebie is so sweet - and not autumnal to me, but I think most everyone has already reassured you about that.
GASP~ wait til you see the new Blackbird designs! That should start you on the road to a quick recovery :-D
Wow, I saw your blog for the first time, and I love your work on it.
Beautiful projects!
Greetings from another dutchwoman!
I haven't come to your blog for a long time now and I really hope Pelle will recover soon. It's not fun to see one of your children being sick.
YOur stitching is great as always ;-)
((((hugs))))
So sorry Pelle is still sickie and that he has given it to thee. :(
I will be visiting the website to see Goode Huswife new stuff... I thought they went out of publishing?
I think your BBD design could reasonably pass for autumnal. It's very sweet and any sane person would love it at any time of year ;)
In the Garden is a fun design with really cheerful colors. Nice work.
Wonderful progress on your wips!
I hope you and ds are feeling much better today!
Pelle looks so sweet and sad with being held down coughing and snorkling and feeling punkie. I wish I could be there to hold him and play with him so you could get a real long afternoon of sleep yourself, An. I hope you'll be better very soon. I just love all of your stitching, meanwhile, so I can see you're able to hold a needle and hold your head up a little! That's good! I love the BBD littles, too. Hugs, Deb
