My new wheels. Pretty shiny, huh?
Unforeseen circumstance the second:
Actually, the only circumstance I could foresee when I wrote here last was the fact that there would be unforeseen circumstances as to why I would not get an awful lot done on Rites of Spring. I did three strands since my last RoS update. Well, three strands on RoS, of course:
I did significantly more on Rise and Shine by La-D-Da. You see, I persuaded myself that I needed to stitch something for my dear son, you know, to assuage my feelings of guilt over not being able to go for a ramble in the woods, or for playing hide and seek or for going for a horse ride on Mummy's back. I promised Pelle two of his very own sampler walls to make it up to him: one containing happy samplers (like Rise and Shine, and Zippity Do Da and Polly Wolly Doodle, all by La-D-Da) and the other with samplers of beasties, Noah's Ark, that sort of thing. He already has two Noah's Ark quilts. I want to turn his room into a regular zoo, once I get to do up his room :o) God, we stitchers are a shameless bunch, aren't we? Anything is an excuse to start something new/buy something new/not finish anything old. Pathetic...
Meanwhile, I find myself reduced to a dithering idiot of George Costanzian proportions every time I'm at the hospital, shouting at every passing doctor: "What have I got? WHAT? Is it meningitis? Scoliosis? Lupus? Is it lupus?" And no-one can give me an answer. They have to wait for that bit of skin to grow mushrooms before they can say anything. One thing they DO know: it's not the skin that is infected, but the blood vessels (vasculitis, for those of you who are fond of itises).
Well, at least I've got my happiness :o)
Hope you are all happy too, AND healthy!
Yours infectionately,
Annemarie.

Ouch Annemarie, how worrying for you - though I loved your Seinfeld quote. I hope things improve, and fast! RoS looks great!
happy samplers (like Rise and Shine, and Zippity Do Da and Polly Wolly Doodle, all by La-D-Da) and the other with samplers of beasties, Noah's Ark
What a wonderful idea!
I'm sorry about your leg - hope you feel better soon!
I hope medical science catches up to you soon! Knowing is always better than not knowing!
Don't know what to say.
Feel very very sorry, but it doesn't help much, does it ?
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear what are we going to do with you :( Hope things are soon sorted and you are off the crutches etc and that it is nothing too bad !
Love the new start, I am fond of that one :) also I love the idea of sampler walls for Pelle.....now if I was Pelle I would keep pestering you to do them LOL
Take big care ((hugs)) for you and xx to Pelle
Oh good grief, Annemarie! I will have to roll up my sleeves and send you a scrumptious (ha! o promises) email this weekend. Take care as best you can. Thank goodness you have your 'happiness' and your stitching.
Your Rise & Shine has a nice start, and I love the idea to fill your son's room with happiness and animals.
Oh my goodness I would be a definite basket case if I were you. How awful not to have any answers yet. I thought technology was quicker than that. Take care of yourself.
Oh, my! Now while I always love seeing posts of your stitching progress (and your current progress looks great, as usual), I'm really, really hoping that the next post you make is to say that you're on the mend!! More good wishes are on their way to you now . . .
Good Heavens girl!! I don't know what to say any more. Sometimes it rains till it pours but in your case I think a torrential downpour has hit. Thankfully you have Pelle and your stitching to get you through.
And hugs from me (if they help)
Oh Annemarie! I hope that the docs can figure out what's wrong sooner rather than later and that you start feeling better very soon!
Love your Rise and Shine start - that's a great idea to have an animal sampler wall for Pelle :)
The tree trunk on RoS is looking magnificent too! ;)
Oh Annemarie, this is all not very funny. Not knowing about one's health issues is always the worst of all. I hope that they will soon find out what the problem is and how it can be treated best. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Your stitching is wonderful and I love your new start. What a great idea to make happy sampler walls for Pelle.
Okay, I'm practically peeing in my pants at the picture of your imitating George at the hospital. You haven't gone so far as to shave your head to imitate his bald patch, have you?
What the heck is vasculitis? I have to go look that up now.
Crutches? Crutches?? What on EARTH is going on with you? As soon as I stop coughing till I puke, I'm coming down and playing nurse. You've been warned!!
OH heavens...crutches, vasculitis? Not something to play around with. I'm thinking that instead of pumpkins you need to grow a patch of garlic so that you can make ropes of it and hang on all your doors and window openings.
Please do take care George, I'm thinking of you and praying that all rights itself soon....
You and I are a pair, aren't we??? I have had no news back yet which I will take as a good sign and meaning I will be nuked as of March 9th. How about you??? I think we should just write off 2009 and skip happily right into 2010 which, by the way, is going to be the year of Annemarie and Heidi. Did you know that? :) I think turning Pelle's room into a zoo is a fun idea.
Hugs en groetjes ~
Heidi
What a fun idea for Pelles room - want a hand??
Now what will we do about you and you'itis's hope they sort you out soon, I can imagine its not fun.
Hugs to you both
I'm glad you have your stitching to keep you busy while you wait for the doctors to figure out what's wrong with you. Hopefully it will be soon and they'll get you straightened out.
oh Annemarie can't you find some oneto look after your baby and get back into that hospital where you belong?
I am loving that Blackbird design you started btw.
now get back into the hospital!
Annemarie--yours infectionately? Too funny! But the crutches? Nah--they'll make your arms hurt! If I lived nearby, I'd come visit and make tea. Please get well very soon--you have a cosmic imbalance of shitty luck right now, but I'm hoping the scale will tip the other way very soon and that you get the loads of good things you deserve.
You keep on those docs till they have a proper diagnosis, An!
Hmm, I vaguely remember what George was caught DOING while at the hosiptal!
Yes, I too use any excuse to stitch something new or ignore something old, for that matter.
Oh dear Annemarie, I hope they work it out soon. Both your wips look great
Oh my goodness what on earth is going on with you woman?? You are so precious and you don't need this right now. I'm glad you are keeping your chin up hun and hope they find out and sort whatever is going on with you soon. xx
Sending positive vibes your way, hope you will learn something, anything, sooner rather than later.
Mary Eman
Sending lots of prayers & good thoughts to you, Annemarie! LOL at the George quote, though!
The stitching looks wonderful, as always. I love the idea of a Noah/beastie theme. I keep trying to tell my son that we could do something like that in his room but he's 14 & not prone to listening. Ah well. LOL
Take care of yourself!
Pretty progress on both wips!
Are you saying you've become a medical mystery to the dr's? Sending you hugs and best of healing wishes!
Annemarie, I certainly hope the doctors figure things out quickly! Lots of good thoughts and prayers.
Love all your stitched bits and pieces.
Hope the doctors get you sorted out soon.
You certainly sound like you have lots of stitching planned, good luck with it all.
Oh my goodnness, I hope they work out what is wrong very soon! Those crutches looks horrible. Rise and Shine looks great, I'm fond of La-D-Da, and I just bought a bunch of them myself.
Annemarie, I hope you get some answers and like NOW! I can't even begin to imagine. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way! The stitching looks fab too!
