Old progress, new stash, and a giveaway

Despite an alarming lack of stitchy progress I bring you a stitchy update. Short, but hopefully sweet. In order to distract my hopelessly preoccupied mind from dwelling on my son's pneumonia (!!!), on the Soapy Twist becoming soapier and thus dirtier, on my translator's block and on my own self pity [which, at present, knows no bounds :o)] I decided to pay Blogland a visit and bore you with my ramblings.

So, stitchy progress first. This is how far I've come with the Fremme birds:

(Did you notice that I call every Fremme design the Fremme birds? Except for the Blue Lady, which I call Pistols) This project is my 'away' project. It's usually left lying around at my parents', in case I'm visiting and I have nothing to do but stitch. As you can see, I visit my parents quite often.
This following picture is going to be my next 'away' project, for when the birds are finished:

May I present to you, the Fremme Birds. I love the colours, and I can't wait to start this one.

I have made some progress on Nobody Loves Me, but it really isn't enough to waste picture space on, so you will just have to take my word for it.

And now for the giveaway. Last year was the first time I participated in the Loose Feathers club. I really like all of the designs that came out, except for Number 33. Well, I like it, but not enough to stitch it or keep the chart myself. The fabric and the threads, well they're quite a different story. They're scrumptious. In fact, the fabric is already being used for 'Nobody Loves Me'. So fabric and threads are NOT included in the draw. If you would like a chance to win this chart, without fabric or threads, then please leave a comment to this post, stating that you would like to be included in the draw. I'll pick a name on Valentine's Day (no particular reason).

I'm going back to my barking coughing son. Until next time!

So sorry to hear about Pelle, Annemarie! I know it's scary, expecially that crazy cough that comes with pneumonia. If it's any comfort, my brother used to get pneumonia often as a kid (once each winter for a few years), but he made it through OK. :)

AS for stitching, I LOVE your Fremme Birds. Love the muted colors! The next Birds design looks like it has some gorgeous colors, too.

(No need to enter me in the draw, as I already own that chart. :)

Hope your son feels better soon, I've got a daughter that's currently trying to cough her lungs up but not from pneumonia.

I'd love to enter your draw please

Love your Fremme Birds.

Oh, yes. I'd love to win this chart. Thanks for making this sweet Valentine's gesture.

Oh my, I hope Pelle is better soon. Is this all stemming from the infection he had? A hospital is the best place to catch pneumonia; that's what my grandmother used to say.
I love the Fremme birds. I don't think I've ever seen this chart offered in the US. They remind me of the doves that come to my yard every morning.
As if I don't have enough charts and WIPs already, please enter me in the drawing.

Poor Pelle! Alexis had pneumonia 4 times her first year of life-we were in hospital once for 11 days. So, I know how you feel. Hopefully, Pelle will be back up to speed soon.

Lovely projects, I really like the Fremme Birds. Please don't enter me in the draw either as I too have the chart. Have you seen the first Loose Feather's-I am not terribly fond of it.

Poor Pelle. He just can't seem to catch a break! I hope he is on the mend soon. Maybe you need a Voodoo doll to chase away all the bad things!!!
Love your Fremme birds - nice progress.
Your new project looks great too - I agree the colors are beautiful

What a shame you don't like this Loose Feathers. I love it to bits, so would you please enter my name in the draw. Hope you both feel better soon.

Pelle and you have both had a rough time of it! Hope he's feeling better real soon. I spent one winter (years ago) with two small children with pneumonia and my husband away for weeks on business. A very trying time for us all, so I sympathize!

I like your Birds project - very stylized in cool colors. :)

There can never be too many Fremme birds in the world, IMHO. :D Love yours, both of them, and miss mine (which haven't seen activity in an embarassingly long time).

Very, very sorry about Pelle's pneumonia. Max was very susceptible to that and it is just NO FUN as a parent to fret and worry over their tiny, sick little selves. What a lesson in feeling utterly helpless. :(

Also sorry that you're having more troubles on the soapy side. You need to sic a serious kneecapper on her. Call/email/mail anytime you'd like to talk. Or rant. Or whatever.

I feel so so sorry for little Pelle. I know this feeling of helplessness that comes upon us when one of our children is ill. And we can do nothing about it. I hope that Pelle will be on the mend and regain his forces very soon.

The Fremme birds are so lovely. And I also love your next Fremme project, at least the colours look so gorgeous.

(Don't include me in the draw).

Dear Annemarie,
I'll try my luck too !
Most important though, is that Pelle recovers soon. There seems to be no end to this poor little boy's bugs.
Hope you resist !

Awww, poor Pelle! I'm so sorry to hear that your little guy is so sick. Sending healing thoughts your way.

Your Fremme birds looks lovely! YGG!

Also sending good thoughts and vibes your way over the soapy developments. Just know that many people are thinking of you.

No need to enter me in the LF drawing, I also have the chart (with no plans to stitch it as of yet)!

Please enter me in the draw as that would make an ideal piece for an exchange I'm currently thinking of joining.

Hope your son is soon feeling better. With so much going on its a wonder you found enough time to stitch anything or post on your blog.

Love the colours you have picked out for your next project.

Hi Annemarie, I love all of your WIPs! Why aren't more people stitching Fremme (myself included)? They're so gorgeous - I recently saw a different "Fremme birds" at an exhibition and it just blew me away.

Glad you could use the supplies from the LF package - I've got this one too, and WILL stitch it sometime.

All the best for little Pelle, and for your "soap".

Just had to post to send some positive vibes for you and Pelle.
I hope he is feeling much better soon.

I have this LF chart too and am not sure I'll stitch it. Have you seen the last one?? It's awful!! Well I think it is anyway!

Poor both of you--the barker and the barkee! You're due some spring, both the real kind and the spirit kind. I like Fremme Birds II's colors--the pinks! and the greens--very springy.

Poor guy, pneumonia is no fun at all... hope he feels better very soon!

You must be wondering what can possibly come your way next! I hope this is the end of the troubles and they soon get chased away. I hope Pelle is much better soon and keep well yourself. Sending {{{hugs}}}

I"m sorry to read Pelle is ill again! I don't experienced this with one of my kids, but it must be hard!!
Take care, hope he'll feeling better soon.

Love the Fremme Birds,
love the Blackbird Design too, but it would end up on a big pile, so don't enter me in the drawing.

Dearest An, You may need to borrow Harmien's little goblin girl, VileEmma, to put with your voodoo boy for these times!! I know she doesn't know how to keep her hands off him, but as a team they can be deadly to gremlins and goblins bearing bad luck, as you well know.
I'm so sad for Pelle. I've had several bouts of pneumonia and know how exhausting and difficult to breathe it can make one. I pray that he's well soon. And, I pray that you get good rest when he does, and that all your translation work gets done before you realize it. Many hugs, Deb

Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog! It was my second one ever and very exciting! I notice you are from the Netherlands. My DH's family is from there and we visited last February and plan to again this July. I loved it!
